However, the detailed written judgment is about more. The court discusses the question of whether the preoccupation with Marxist theory is fundamentally compatible with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). It says: “The active activity of the plaintiff, centered on the theories of Karl Marx, is in principle contrary to the liberal democratic basic order.”

The court found that the works and teachings of Karl Marx were at the centre of the Mash's activities are already clear from the name “Marxist evening school”. A problem because: “The social theory justified by Marx (...) should be in essential respects not compatible with the (...) principles of the liberal democratic basic order.” In the oral sentence in April, the court had not yet stated the point.

The lawyer Ridvan Ciftci, who represented the Mash in court, considers the court's sayings to be negligent. She says that if a group mainly reads Marx, it is in principle anti-constitutional. In the case of the mash, it is only okay because the bunch is insignificant enough and not “actively-fighting”.

Most support fror AfD comes from East Germany unfortunately

As a result of the ~~FDR~~FRG gutting the East's social programs and marginalizing any sort of socialist ideology. Devoid of socialism and economic prospects at the hands of neoliberalism, it is no surprise the region lurched right. I can still blame it on the FDR, who was created by remnants of Nazis.

If you look at the age dynamics, you'll see most AfD votes come from people born after the DDR, though. It's the old people from the commie country voting against fascism.

East Germany (today) has less than 20 Million Inhabitants - while AfD support is alot more concentrated in the east due to a bunch of reasons, like economic shock therapy after the fall of the GDR, the majority of AfD supporters and Politicians are still West Germans, and percentage wise both east and west will soon have the AfD as the most popular party it seems like

The two statements definitely aren't mutually exclusive, though they might provide reason to look at it more critically. New Nazis can emerge who aren't part of a direct lineage of Nazis who survived through the entire lifespan of East Germany.

They were also heavily re-nazified after reunion.

Marxist theory is a fundamental part of economics and historiography even if we are to completely sideline communism. Appears that the courts are dumbfucks.

Using the wording of ‘dictatorship of the proletariat’ as the definitive proof that it is discriminatory is verging on parody when they are banning criticism of the current system.

Yeah, how are academic institutions supposed to deal with this? Do they have to stop saying Marx's name when they're teaching like he's Voldemort? Profoundly unserious.

HE WROTE ABOUT LIBERAL MARKET ECONOMICS, HIS "SOCIAL THEORY" WAS JUST A CLOSE EXAMINATION OF HOW THAT FUNCTIONED

It's not like Marx didn't argue for the necessity of revolution and the dictatorship of the proletariat. If he was just an economic analyst, he'd probably just be remembered as some transitional figure between Adam Smith and Keynes or something like that.
