They called the idea nutty, even seedy, but the Copilot mascot turned out to be a seminal piece of marketing that spawned generations to follow. This was a huge release that left a lot of the more conservative viewers clutching their pearl necklaces. Cream of the crop. Busting once and for all the myth that Microsoft isn't a fertile place for breeding marketing innovation. Coming out of nowhere, a climactic moment in the 2025 AI summer. Truly a moment to refract on during the upcoming period. All the money they've splooged on AI is finally coming to fruition and not just blown off and swallowed. The success will surely rub off on the AI industry as a hole or at least jack up Microsoft shares with vigorous excitement. And other semen jokes.

Cumpilot?
Baldur Bjarnason has given his thoughts:
I mean… yeah.
Also, between this and seeing tech types link glowingly to a crazypants “colonise the light cone by exploring latent space” type of delusional bullshit and I’m staring to worry that computers, as a concept, might not be salvageable after these clowns have run the show into the ground
@BlueMonday1984 I never thought I'd say this but, bring back Clippy!
colonise the light cone by exploring latent space
Can someone explain what this is referring to? I don't understand it.
references these two topics. I suspect the phrase itself in this case is a shitpost taking aim at some of the absurd bullshit TESCREALists come up with in their nonsensegabble, but ...... it is also the kind of nonsensegabble that some of them may unironically post
(related tangent: @cstross' Singularity series is a pretty fun topical dive about this, and he's been following these nutjobs for probably close to 3 decades now)
is it cynical that i find the idea of a "latent space" a bit goofy? may just be because i think data science is kind of a joke and much machine learning is "we threw shit at our model but don't know what a category error is"
like it's just dimensionality reduction with new vocab?
Another Oglaf reference???
Strange, ever noticed how many of the genAI logos looked like an anus? https://velvetshark.com/ai-company-logos-that-look-like-buttholes. "Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action", what is dozens of times?
Oh, right. I forgot the obligatory comment.
@dgerard why did you make the header image so sexy again?

Does it really?
Please tell the multi-trillion dollar company I'm sorry I made fun of their AI slop mascot. Just because it's a milky white blob of fluid doesn't mean it looks like a blob of another kind of milky white liquid.
Trump apologetics doesn't really make the bar here. Hopefully you will find a sub that is more accepting of whatever your condition is.
The video is heavily euphemised and I think I got away with it
Sidenote: It would be hilarious if YouTube began demonetising videos featuring Microsoft Copilot's Cum Zone
remember, the actual design name is Liquid Ass

(still amazing that they PR blundered that, and how rapidly just that got fixed while addressing nothing else about this stupid thing)
NGL, they might've been better off skating the edge of IP and managed it after a little fat blobule, like the Partners In Crime adipose here. Adipilot has that "atta boy" sound, and selling fat to dumbfuck Americans is their business model already, so: apropos on so many levels. 🤷🏽♂️

edit: yes, now I see the earlier comment. 🤪
Tofu, if it were orange the article would read "...looks like a blob of orange semen"
