The United States Preventive Services Task Force plays an important role in protecting access to low-cost or free cancer screenings and tests for chronic diseases.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering removing all 16 members of a highly influential advisory committee that offers guidance about preventive health services, such as cancer screenings, HIV prevention medications or tests for osteoporosis, according to two people familiar with the plan.

The United States Preventive Services Task Force is a group of independent doctors, nurses and public health experts who volunteer to regularly review volumes of the latest scientific research about diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease and mental health, as well as mammograms for breast cancer.

Isn’t it strange how they keep collecting taxes but kill all the things that tax money was supposed to go into?

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

No, no, raxes aren't for doing things that are a common good or the infrastructure of society; taxes are for imperialism and cops.

Just like vaccines, preventive services save money and lives.

The taxes are for their pockets. Greatest heist in Human history right in front of our very eyes.

Is this to distract from raping kids with Epstein?

You know it!

Aaaaand once again, repeat after me: conservatism is a death cult.

These people – and I'm using that word in its loosest descriptive meaning possible – literally want you to die.

[-] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

and a lot of them are willing to die to make it happen

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Most of them think they’re not going to be the ones who die.

The rest of the world should forbid all travel in and out of the US. Just isolate it, let them rot in peace.

It's quite staggering to see the US regressing from putting a man on the moon to medicine with leeches in 50 years. What a sad, sad country.

The man is a living example of why we need preventative care

He's a living example of why women need access to abortion resources and education.

Don’t worry, I’m sure he’s going to immediately replace them with 16 highly qualified influencers who think you can cure cancer with apple cider vinegar and an all fruit diet.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Apple cider vinegar in woo, that made me think of those chemtrail idiots who think that you can combat contrails by pouring apple cider vinegar on their driveway...

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Apple cider vinegar isn't woo by default, it's just part of a long list of materials used in folk and home remedies that dipshits latch onto. You can use fishing line and a sewing needle to patch someone up in a pinch, but that doesn't mean it's better than just getting stitched up at the ER or urgent care.

Also doesn't help that vinegar has a broad but limited number of applications, everything from nausea to sunburns but well thats because of its chemical properties not some stupid woo magic BS. Also a good chunk of time any vinegar will do fine doesn't matter if it's from cider, potato, or rice, I don't get the obsession with apple cider vinegar.

People will die. RFK has blood on his hands, even if he will never admit it.

I've lost all respect for Cheryl Hines for staying married to this piece of shit

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Needs to hang.

Hard to admit to something you don't even understand.

That's what I struggle with - he is surrounded by some of the smartest people in the field and chooses not to listen to them.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It's intentional.

The people who put them into those positions of power want their money. Him firing these people will cause deaths and people will demand a solution. Then they'll announce some "amazing" private solution that will be worse and cost more.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

These people are sociopaths. They get satisfaction out of doing what other people tell them not to do. That explains a lot of decisions of the Trump administration.
