It's mid-summer, and for some reason I had a moment of nostalgia for gray, cold, rainy days. If you're like me, here's a reminder of what we can look forward to in a few months...

The rain continues, with Tremendious gusts of wind, which is Tremendious. The winds violent Trees falling in every direction, whorl winds, with gusts of rain Hail & Thunder, This kind of weather lasted all day, Certainly one of the worst days that ever was!

From William Clark's journal, December 16, 1805, as the Lewis and Clark expedition wintered at Fort Clatsop

Greater Seattle area, Halloween to Easter: 42° and rainy. Never have to worry about what to wear, and remember that umbrellas are for tourists.

Northern Washington here. Knocking on wood that the mild summer keeps up. It's almost over and if we don't go over 100, I would be so happy.

I'll start my rain dance early
