Jokes aside, she has the money to start over fresh in whatever country she pleases and live a comfortable stress free life. Us, on the other hand, do not have that luxury. So it's going to be super fun when the DOJ can just decide because you posted "Free Palestine" on facebook that your citizenship gets revoked and you're shipped off to some concentration camp in latin america.

In north korea, citizens get punished by having their citizenship revoked if they speak badly of the regime. yeonmi-park

Rosie O'Donnel said one shitty thing conservatives didn't like 25 years ago.

Rosie hasn't been relevant since 1998, she wasn't relevant in 2001 when she said the shit thing that conservatives are still mad about.

Trump is probably in the stage of dementia where he probably getting mad each night because he is learning all over again that the O'Reilly Factor isn't on the air anymore.

[-] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 25 points 1 year ago

Chuds are still mad at Jane Fonda even though it's been over 50 years

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

I remember her appearing in Bush era memes about how liberal women are ugly and conservative women like Ann Coulter are beautiful.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago

Ann Coulter are beautiful.

I'm not going to wade in and dictate beauty standards which are subjective. I will say however though the chuds have a "type" they elevate, Pam Bondi, Karoline Leavitt, Ann Coulter, Tomi Lahren, you get the picture.

I remember those.

(CW: old chud meme; thinly veiled misogyny; liberals falsely labeled as leftists)

I like how the conservatives' pictures are official portraits and glamour shots, while the liberals' pictures are candid, Photoshopped or otherwise out of context.

[-] enkifish@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

Seems mostly old vs young with a dash of racism. Also, is that Rosie O'Donnel's face photoshopped on Saddam Hussein?

[-] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah there's a lot of ageism. Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, for example, would both be missing from this chart if they were still in their 20s or 30s.

Saddam Hussein?

No, its Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged number three in al-Qaida.

[-] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

These are always so stupid because you can just point to Hollywood, which chuds are constantly seething over as being too liberal. Taylor Swift was their darling until she vaguely hinted at not liking Trump. Hell, a lot of Fox News staff are there because they couldn't make it in any other kind of showbiz (like Ben Shapiro).

You can fill up both sides of that chart pretty easily because surprise surprise, attractive people exist all over the political spectrum and we shouldn't use that as a litmus for intelligence.

[-] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

That Clinton one should be an emoji though it's great hillary-apartment

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

It's funny how I recognize pretty much every name on the left, while at least half of the ones on the right are in ”literally who?” territory.

[-] nothx@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago

probably getting mad each night because he is learning all over again that the O'Reilly Factor isn't on the air anymore.

My dead grandfather is still fuming over this from his grave.

[-] RoabeArt@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I was gonna say, the only time I ever come across anything about Rosie O'Donnell anymore is via boomer memes. They're literally the one and only demographic who still cares about her.

I was really hoping Trump just said Ireland because of her last name and his inherent racism, but sadly it's because she is in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago

Trump probably thinks people from Ireland are still Shamus O'Paddy immigrants from the 1860s lol

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 37 points 1 year ago

I forgot she even existed until it was brought up this morning. Super fucking dangerous, Mr. President take her away.

She's still alive? Wow. I didn't know that, you're telling me now for the first time. She's still leading an amazing life.

[-] Lavender@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

Lmao keep the threat to humanity in wonderful Ireland.

Ooo he called us a wonderful country, we still hate the fashy orange fuck

[-] Gorillatactics@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago

Trump is going to resign tomorrow. Everything he's done over the past 15 years has been done with one goal in mind: evening a score with Rosie O'donnel.

[-] gueybana@hexbear.net 25 points 1 year ago

There is no doubt about it, Rosie is his arch nemesis.

I remember being 13 watching him go on literal rants about Rosie O’Donnell just because she was fat. Insane shit

[-] ryepunk@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago

Imagine being a woman, a fat woman, and having the indecency to go into a career where others will have to see you talking and moving and such. The nerve of some women.

Now if you'll excuse me I gotta go play tennis.

thicc-trump

[-] Jenniferrr@hexbear.net 30 points 1 year ago

If he successfully does this idk what to do, seems like a bad precedent

[-] segfault11@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago

bad president kelly

[-] Euergetes@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago

the sending her to ireland bit is probably untrue but i wonder how european countries would take white american deportees/emigrees like that. on the one hand they're migrants, but on the other they're white. 2 biggest european contradictions in a single problem

[-] OhNoMoreLemmy@lemmy.ml 27 points 1 year ago

You can already see how they were handled with Ukrainian refuges.

In the UK, the standard channels were completely bypassed. No need to go through the normal refuge system, and the government would directly pay families to host refuges.

Very different to the standard approach where you're indefinitely detained the cheapest accommodation possible and banned from working.

[-] stink@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 1 year ago

I like how Palestinians were using the same channels Ukkkrainians were and then the government blocked it

[-] TrashGoblin@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago

She already moved to Ireland and is in the process of obtaining citizenship; her father was an Irish citizen. Not a situation that generalizes.

[-] Euergetes@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

feel like Trump would form that idea based entirely on her name, but idk he's apparently a long-time hater so he might know personal details

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 26 points 1 year ago

lmao no fuckin' way michael-laugh

dumbest timeline

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago

Hey don't knock our big ol' queen president who holds a grudge for decades.

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure she already moved to Ireland after he won the election, so Donny T is once again slow on the draw

[-] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

Lol he really isn’t over his grudge towards her

[-] peeonyou@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

so when i was wearing my "Free Palestine" shirt at trader joe's and one guy told me I was "brave" for wearing it, i was super confused by that statement.. but with shit like this it makes a little more sense

[-] crankyrebel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 year ago

Donald Trump is a dictator dressed up as a president, that is clear. However, Rosie O'Donnell supported Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders, so she is neo-liberal, shit-lib herself. Must be nice to have all that money you can hide in another country, and return when it is safe. She is part of the bigger problem. Eat the rich!

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 30 points 1 year ago

Donald Trump is a dictator dressed up as a president, that is clear.

Eh, I'd argue all us president have done dictator shit in one way or another, usually it's just aimed at the global south. Trump is unique in that he's using the gun of empire and training it on citizens instead which is new. Agree though that she is a shitlib, she sucks.

[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

everybody forgets that barack obama drone murdered US citizens and not a single consequence was had

he won the popular vote. he's not a dictator, he's exactly what the american people want

[-] Euergetes@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago

the US is not a democratic country, this is a silly statement.

[-] BobDole@hexbear.net 35 points 1 year ago

“Did not vote” won the presidency, as it has nearly every election since like 1908.

[-] Hestia@hexbear.net 30 points 1 year ago

A country held captive under duress cannot be said to be a democracy. When you control the choices you control the outcome.

[-] crankyrebel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 year ago

Not arguing right vs left...it is a uni-party system. We need a proper 'working class' party that fights for workers, a third party.

[-] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

...a vanguard party? weird-bolshevik

[-] Dessa@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Can we call him a dictator when future elections are brazenly stolen or cancelled?

You're not wrong, but I don't think anyone cares who it's happening to. The issue is that it's happening to -someone- and setting up precedence.

[-] take_five_moments@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

hahjahahahahah do it

[-] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

With enough of your prayers I'll be able to normalize relations with Cuba and use the absolute shit out of Guantanamo.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
