Is there a sleek way to upload a new Thumbnail URL when I'm editing a post?

I'm on a desktop. This is what I ~~have to~~ did.

  1. Open a new tab.

  2. Upload the image.

  3. Copy the URL and paste it into the Thumbnail URL of the original post.

If you don't already know... If you stay in original post and upload an image - the image url goes into the URL field and your original URL is gone.

Edit 1

I made a change for clarity.

Edit 2

hellinkilla pointed out something very simple.

I just upload it as part of the post text using the WYSIWYG toolbar.

I somehow convinced myself I had to open a new tab. Don't ask me why.

I had this problem before. I think what I did was like your solution but instead of opening a new tab and uploading the image in a new post I just upload it as part of the post text using the WYSIWYG toolbar.

the WYSIWYG toolbar.

Heh. That's so much easier. Gah.

Upload the image first, move the url to the thumbnail url, then paste in your actual url.

Edit: or do you mean editing an existing post? I guess you could paste the image in the comment field then copy the url.

Yesterday I was wondering how you post so much and if you have some kind of trick.

I don't think you want my trick. I'm old so retired. Plus I have ever-present insomnia.
