He says from the golf course.
The United States is tied with Vietnam for fewest number of minimum National holidays on Earth.
This man hasn't truly worked for a day in his life.
Bit rich coming from one of the laziest men on the planet.
He's pissed that he has to pay extra his golf caddies if he plays during holidays
Says the guy where every day can be a day off if he chooses it to be.
Remember when he said after Obama had been golfing, that when he became president, he wouldn't have time to go golfing. And then as president he golfed more in a month than Obama did his entire 8 year presidency!
Anyone who trusts Trump on anything he says is a moron. Most European countries have twice the non working holidays USA has, and typically 5 weeks paid holiday. In USA all the privileges are to the employer, and the stupid Americans accept it? 🤦♀️
Many people are saying, very smart people, the best, that I’ve played more golf as president than anyone else. And let me tell you, it’s true. Nobody has ever golfed this much, believe me. Obama? Tiny golf. Biden? Sad golf. But me? Tremendous golf. Historic golf. Some say I’ve saved the game of golf, while also running the country, better than anyone, by the way. So really, when you think about it, all this golfing? A huge sacrifice for America.
And the fake news won’t report that I only golf to make deals, beautiful deals, with very important people. Sometimes Putin, sometimes Netanyahu, very good golfer, by the way.
Pretty good impression, but way too coherent. He'd start out talking about golf, and by the end he'd be saying something about radical left-wing salad forks.
No, I havent just accepted it. They've created a situation in rhe U.S. where Healthcare is tied to the employer, and social safety nets are nearly nonexistent for a lot of people. So, we are forced to accept lower quality of job benefits in order to see a doctor so we dont die. Basically, its a systemic issue, not an any one person issue.
But, next time you feel like spouting off about what "America's just accept", you could maybe do a little bit of research first.
As long as Americans don't unionize, and can't even prevent a president Trump, it's acceptance of the status quo as a society.
I do not mean it on an individual basis. I couldn't care less whether you as an individual accepts it or not, if you haven't tried to join others that want change, you have essentially accepted it.
Accepting it, doesn't mean you can't be unhappy about it. Acceptance is all about the actions you take to help change.
You don't think people aren't trying to unionize? Decades of anti-Union sentiment, "right to work" laws, fear of punishment for taking about pay (even though it's protected by the NLRB), etc. are at odds with it. Shit, slavery is still legal under the 13th amendment, the very same amendment that abolished it, thanks to a loophole. California tried to abolish prison slavery, and it failed.
Unionizing in the US isn't as simple as "let's do it". There are hurdles, and psychological traps, as well as tricks that employers can use to fire you to get around the law.
Even if you think you have a case, getting the resources to fight in court will be prohibitive. And any kind of measurable settlement to help embolden unionizing nationwide will be almost non-existent.
I'm not saying it's not a battle to avoid, but it's a Sisyphusian effort.
No it's not easy, and it's become steadily worse for half a century now. Rights are not given, they are fought for. And American rarely fight, but accept corporate offers, and fail to unionize over and over again.
I'm not blaming you, I know USA is split, but when opportunities arise, American workers fail to grab them.
The problem of course starts with the fact that USA is a dysfunctional democracy. And again nothing has been done for half a century to change that.
The Democrats are better than the Republitards, but they are still part of the problem.
Grassroots need to be build to power. Maybe No Kings could be part of that?
Anyhow USA lost about half a century of progress, so now the hill is steep. Employers have taken power. But there is still power of the masses, if only enough Americans decide to fight back.
We Americans do just "accept" it. If we didn't we would have stopped this corporate bullshit decades ago when they started it.
You're angry at the wrong person/s. That anger can be constructively channeled.
i started a new job (remote, with a chill af boss) that only offered 2 weeks of vacation after the NPO i worked for got bought by a for-profit and i forecasted that we'd be stripped of our 6 weeks PTO accrual (I was right). I stored up my first year's PTO so i could use it in march for a week-long vacation we usually do for spring break. in january i learned that it's apparently wiped clean on Jan 1. I now, weirdly, use 0 hours of PTO in a year, but I always take time off when i need it. probably adds up to more than the 2 weeks i'm supposed to have. but i got burned by the rules so i've decided i don't need to play by them. so yeah, i'm not "just accepting it"
Anyone else remember when Trump suggested in 2020 that Juneteenth should be a national holiday?
If Republicans are the party of Lincoln, and they freed the slaves, then shouldn't they be proud of how "woke" they are?
No? Maybe it's because the Republicans of today are running off of a totally different ideology and they only like to say positive things about minorities when it is in their best interests.
Of course Donald Trump hates Juneteenth.
In 2021, Joe Biden signed the bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday:
US President Joe Biden signed The Juneteenth National Independence Day Act in the White House on Thursday 17 June to formally recognise Juneteenth as a national holiday.
Mr Biden said: "Great nations don't ignore their most painful moments. We come to terms with the mistakes we made. And remembering those moments, we begin to heal and grow stronger."
Ending slavery should be one of the more important ones. It's one of the biggest milestones in our nation.
Need a couple asterisks on "ending slavery"
Putting some limitations on slavery.
Christmas should be the first removed. It’s a day for worshipping a spiritual being many don’t believe in.
Gimme back muh solstice! I'll worship the dark with whiskey and chocolate and maybe some beef.
Wtf does Christmas have to do with religion?
Nothing at my house lol, just another excuse to eat and drink.
Holy dog whistle, Batman!
There really aren't that many. Even once a month is not that much, and we don't even get that.
Like those weekdays where he goes golfing?
Why doesn’t he just come out and say that he would prefer it if Black people were still enslaved?
While taking the day off to play golf, he tells us we don’t deserve a day off if it honors anyone non-white.
He does not work so he would not know.
If you have a job where you have to work with coworkers, vendors, or suppliers that are outside of the US, you quickly learn that Americans work hard as hell, and usually don’t get a much downtime as other countries.
Americans get exploited much, it's why they have the most mega corporations that are rich at expense of all the workers in it. Except the higher up execs.
Almost nobody outside of government jobs and banks actually gets holidays like this off. (So you know, mostly white collar white people) What a fucking joke.
It mostly just fucks with working people's pay schedules, direct deposits, and when they can cash their check.
Government includes DoD; theres a lot of non-white-collar work under that umbrella.
Its still almost nobody that actually gets federal holidays off.
“Now I’m off to my golf course for a week to relax”
Fuck off. Asshole.
...has this man ever worked?...
As a rule, a man who has never worked a day in his life- should have no authority over those who do.
I wonder if he went golfing yesterday
24.5% of his presidency spent golfing so far. More than any other president, just counting his first term no less.
Remember when right wing media tried to paint Obama in a negative light on golfing, despite going less than Bush?
Woah, woah, woah, hold up... Trump may be destroying the foundations of America while attempting to install a fascist regime, but none of it is comparable to that time Obama wore a tan suit... can you believe that guy?
You forgot it's Obama fault that they are making it a fascist regime... How dare that guy be president
I mean, if Obama hadn’t made that one joke about Trump…
Went golfing so much in term 1 that the Secret Service almost ran out of budget.
Wonder where all that money went for accommodations at all the Trump owned golf courses and hotels he plays at.. the grift that keeps on gifting.
He did, in fact.
Oddly enough I worked juneteenth. He's just bitching to hear himself bitch now
I did as well. Most Americans work most holidays unless you are a government employee or a finance bro.
