That 'unsubscribe' button may be a scam

The URL provided to unsubscribe more often than not, at the very least contains tracking info. Then again, you should always assume every image and link in an email from a company or service is designed to track you.

That's the reason why you should disable them by default.
The unsubscribe button just validates the email address is live and has someone paying attention to it.
Usually it's already from an account that I verified the email for.
