No matter how hard they keep trying, they fail to fully escape the guardrails of modern science and the workers' movement that protect them from a life that is nasty, brutal and short, they don't realise that to regress to living "off the grid" is neither possible nor desirable, and they think they are being brave or smart when they are really just a minor nuisance to the rest of society
