I'm completely pro-Ukraine, anti-invasion, anti-Putin. But. I can't take joy and amusement from these three conscripted young people marching obliviously to their death. The emotional tone of this post and many of its comments are fucked up.

My point is them being spotted and killed is a good thing for the Ukrainians. I'm not going to blame people for being happy about it. Also you're taking a lot of agency away from the Russians here. A not insignificant number of them are contracted rather than conscripted, especially the ones on the front.
Regardless of whether they are conscripts or mercs, the whole premise of this post is that they are deeply ignorant. And their ignorance is being exploited to the detriment of both themselves and others. These three people are clearly not people that need to be demonized (*) and dehumanized, except so that we can feel good about killing vulnerable victims on the other side before they can kill us.
*) Criticism and demonization are not the same thing. It is absolutely fair to be critical that they are not sacrificing themselves for others. To mock them as "clowns" and insist that they deserve to die for being stupid is not criticism, it's self-manipulation.
Being happy that they were stopped before they could hurt others is a few steps removed.
How do you even survive this war as a human?

With America firmly in Putin's pocket now and Europe dragging their feet on resistance, the possibility that they could just glass Kiev and get away with it is growing.
France would glass Moscow and St. Petersburg without a second thought. Britain would as well, but they may have US interference, same for Germany.
