I'm astonished that there's anybody left at the Central Bank to collect and process economic data after DOGE.
I mean Musk managed to fire everybody who could put hard numbers on the humanitarian disaster caused by the shuttering of USAID. You'd think the first think he'd do - after firing those who investigate his companies of course - is to fire everybody who could shed light on the Trump economic disaster.
And yet... apparently he didn't.
So the economy is going down the shitter is it? Color me surprised. The question is: do the idiot MAGA voters finally realize what they done did? I'm not even sure they do even at this point...

The sad thing is that they will never understand it. Most of them will continue to blame liberals and foreigners for every problem imaginable.
People who are entrenched in grotesque worldviews like that generally do not emerge from it, no matter how stark reality's rebuttal is. Hitler maintained near-majority support in Germany even into the 1950s, after he had blown his brains out, committed atrocities on a scale too large and too well-publicized to ignore, and turned the second most powerful country in Europe to the 5th most powerful in Berlin.
the fed is actually independent. they don't answer to anyone in government. that's why they say "ok whatever fuck off" when trump tries to tell them what to do
That is until Powell leaves and a pure Trump lackey replaces him. Then they're truly fucked.

Community Conditions
Conditions in the community support and services sector deteriorated as federal funding and charitable donations dropped notably. Demand for community and support services rose somewhat as individuals and households continued to seek housing, health care, and food assistance. Meanwhile, many nonprofit organizations reduced their staff and were less able to meet basic community needs. Availability of affordable housing continued to be a concern for contacts across the District.
