Carney said his government is working quickly to join the EU-led “ReArm Europe” program, which plans to invest $1.25 trillion in defense over the next five years.
“Seventy-five cents of every dollar spent on defense goes to the United States. That’s not a smart move,” Carney told host David Cochrane.
Trump said Canada could join the system for free if it becomes the 51st U.S. state. If not, it would cost $61 billion.
And Canada said: "No." 🤭

For me, it's like this. Do you know people in the same way you know a country? I'm not talking to Canada, I'm talking to Canadians. And our country, USA is a lot effed up right now. And that's gonna harm a lot more USians than it will help, I fear. I know a few Canadians, and would do a lot for any of them because of who I know them to be on a personal, not national basis. Doubtless selection bias of some sort going on to be sure. Maybe you know some people of a different nationality, ethnicity, etc, and you know they are decent people even tho' it might be the case that their government is absolute shite.
