For this Wednesday Super Slop Night, first up is The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), a Korean action-comedy made in the vein of old Spaghetti westerns. It is set in 1930s Korea, and follows a band of outlaws rebelling against the Japanese occupation, racing to find a hidden treasure against IJA soldiers, Chinese bandits, and Russian opportunists seeking to do the same. Director is Kim Jee-won, the guy behind the serial-killer thriller I Saw the Devil (2010), which we previously watched.

Next is Companion (2025), the new hit horror sensation, following a dystopian future in which gross guys can buy their perfect robot female sexbot. One such bot (Sophie Thatcher) decides she’s had enough of this shit and rebels. Horror ensues, along with a whole lot of blood, gore, and stabby antics. This is the debut feature of director Drew Hancock, who has no other notable credits. Good reviews for this, so let’s give it a whirl.
