Interesting paradox of AI: It has already reached the intelligence of the people who expect it to reach human intelligence.

The problem with technology development in an increasing unhinged capitalist hegemony is that it doesn't work with reality, it works with whatever investors, shareholders, business owners and entrepreneurs really, really hope will happen. Everyone else has to work towards that, because those are the people that control the resources and funding.

Capitalists are desperate for a new frontier to exploit, reason be damned.

'people are saying that computers are the future therefore we can't estimate the budget for next year, we are at a standstill'

It's more like "corporate is are saying beanie babies and the metaverse are the next big thing"

obama-sad as the price of a single beanie baby approaches the national gdp, our tax revenue becomes completely unpredictable. we have no choice but to do more austerity.

Or we could mint the trillion-dollar beanie baby.

Currently reading a book that features a lot of Silicon Valley bazingabrained dipshits. Every single time that governments believe their hype it blows up in their faces. Every. Single. Time.

Road to Nowhere: What Silicon Valley Gets Wrong about the Future of Transportation by Paris Marx

So far it's fantastic. One of the best and most comprehensively researched pieces of anti-car propaganda I've ever read.

I know that guy! From "Tech won't save us" I've listened to a couple of episodes over the years. Totally missed that he wrote a book that's interesting

I can’t wait to see the global economy collapse into a depression because these morons had to rely on AI.

Sales who don’t understand AI selling it to CEOs who don’t understand AI selling it to investors who don’t understand AI selling it to bankers who don’t understand AI selling it to governments who don’t understand AI.

These programs also don't think so much as bullshit in the most transparently psychopathic way while having no clue what they are saying. They have no actual thoughts or comprehension. So makes sense that capitalists would be impressed by them.

I use AI in my day to day work (IT), I can see how it would replace a lot of people but not THAT many and it "reasoning like a human" doesn't really change that, especially if someone ever implements regulations (good idea imo) where if someone complains they can request that a decision made by AI has to be confirmed by a human.
