I Like guinea pigs for similar reasons! They go "Wheek" and.... well that's it really but it's cute!

Must have been French or something. Their roosters go cocorico over there.

Yep, our rooselters go "cocorico", it's called a "chant". This is a good onomatopoeia as roosters sounds a bit like that.
Our frogs "coasse". As an onomatopoeia, we sometimes say something like "wobett", which sounds like someone who never heard a frog would say they sound, mainly used with or by kids.
Nothing like a bark.
