While I don't necessarily understand the finer points of the meme, I couldn't help but read the "Poynting vector" equation as "SEX B OVER MU" and I couldn't figure out why sex is happening over a cow...

I am a little stoned rn, so that may have something to do with that. Yes, I am aware it's pronounced "Mew"

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced mü, not mew

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Which is pronounced...? English doesn't have that character. Our closest analogue would be "mew."

[-] [email protected] 0 points 2 weeks ago

no, the closest equivalent is "me"

Only in modern Greek. In physics- at least in english- it's pronounced "mew."

huh? ü isn't a greek letter either, the only languages i've seen use it are german and i think turkish, and it's basically just "y"

"Ü" DEFINITELY is not pronounced "ee" so "Mü" is not pronounced "Mee." It's pronounced "Mew."

oh right i mean Y in german, not in english

"ee" is the closest equivalent to it in english

also nice, keep downvoting my messages just because you think i'm dumb, very sensible

While I don’t necessarily understand the finer points of the meme

None of those things are named after the properties the meme points out.

Waow, it's almost like you're taking a stoned comment written in 10 seconds way too seriously.

Poynting vector points towards the direction energy is going, if I recall correctly.

I had ideas for math themed places:

  • Heaviside step function, a club
  • $\overline{the}$, a bar

My alma mater had a café named Foo Bar in a computer science building
