Another empty suit for Canada.

More houses but high price, and that’ll solve the crisis because…?

“If this is the new blood that Mr. Carney is bringing into that cabinet, then sadly for Canadians, nothing is going to change and the role of the Conservative Party will be more important than ever,” Poilievre said.

They are quite literally giving the Conservatives a W on a platter. Poilievre wont lower housing costs but he will outwardly attack minorities which will make people think their lives are getting better.

He was asked if the appointment was an indication that the government does not want property prices to go down.

“You would be very hard-pressed to make that conclusion,” Carney said in response.

“From everything I’ve said and what our priorities are, we have a strong view on housing, a very clear policy developed with a number of members of the team, including with Mr. Robertson. And I’m thrilled that he is in the new role because he brings the type of experience that we need to tackle some aspects of this problem.”

This is the liberal daddy I’ve seen fan-edits about? He’s lying through his teeth, Robertson’s “expertise” in skyrocketing housing prices will help inform this government’s policies which means the crisis will continue to get worse. This is all be design and I’m so angry, but what does this say about Canadians? How can they tolerate this?

Canadians can tolerate it because they know the conservatives will be worse but they can't actually conceive of a better path forward because they are raised to believe communism is evil and private property is holy.

The ruling class is hell bent on fascism. In the past they played the "socially progressive" neo-liberals off the reactionary identity politics of the crypto-fascists. As the fascist agenda got more and more established they had to change tack and make the reactionary identity politics party openly fascistic so the neo-liberal party could embrace crypto-fascism and further the entrenchment of the class war.

So while canadians are fighting reactionary identity politics they are inadvertently helping develop a new feudalism where banks and landlords own the serfs.

The same thing is happening in australia but the far right parties are more racist.

Hmm, I wonder how many sitting MPs now own multiple properties and/or are landlords.

Not surprising though, our economy is overinflated on housing speculation. I welcome a ~~crash~~ readjustment! Pop the bubble, pop the bubble!
