Ed Norton is an automatic sign that even if the movie sucks, it'll be worth watching once just for his performance.
Jason Statham
Nathan Fillion
Watched everything he made without question until the rookie came out. Put off watching it for years but sad I did as it’s a great show!
Nicholas Cage
I think Nicholas Cage is a fine actor, but he's not a great actor IMO. Especially in the last 10-20 years, I feel like he's developed some subtlety but the roles he's taken have all been fuckin' weird. Mostly I like his older work like Raising Arizona, Con Air, Face/Off, etc.
Well, not in his "I do anything to reduce my crushing debt" phase.
I agree.
But he is a legitimate talent. My favorite from him is "Joe." Check it out.
He’s shooting Madden right now, which I’m super excited to see. It’s Nic Cage as John Madden and Christian Bale as Al Davis. Should be good.
Felicity Jones and Rachel McAdams. Either of those two are in something and it's an immediate watch for me. Odds are in their favor it's going to be decent if they signed on for it, and their acting abilities are top notch for me
Tom Hanks, maybe. I used to say "he's never done a bad movie" but then I saw his WWII movie that aired on AppleTV
-I don't know if any actors are good enough to pull me in like that. There are however, a couple of major directors that guarantee I am going to the theatre. Guillermo Del Toro is probably the most likely one that comes to mind. Ridley Scott and James Cameron are likely to get me in the theatre as well.

Really? I fucking loved Greyhound. It's like they surgically removed every boring movie trope they could find to leave just the best bits.
Gene Hackman. DeNiro. Pacino. J.T. Walsh. James Cromwell. J.K Simmons. Many more I can't remember.
I'll be intrigued if any of these are in the cast.
- Anthony Hopkins
- Bill Murray
- Edward Norton
- Rebecca Ferguson
- Evan Rachel Wood
But they've all been cast in plenty of films films I don't care about (e.g. Hopkins in Transformers and Thor, Murray in Garfield and Jungle Book) so it's not even remotely a guarantee.
Rick Moranis maybe
Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron. Also just learned who she is but I'm definitly a Florence Pugh fan now.
Tom Hardy. Taboo was very good.
He definitely takes risks and chooses interesting projects.
And then goes and does a snooze fest like Havoc. I guess very few manage to bat 1.000.
- Scarlet Johansson
- Denzel Washington
- Keanu Reeves
- Frances McDormand
Scarlet was great in Jojo Rabbit.
I now realize I left out the amazing actresses from my list. Thank you.
Used to be Robin Williams for me.
I don't know if there's any actor I feel that way about as I generally don't watch films based on the cast, but probably the closest would be Song Kang-ho. He delivers consistently great performances and works with many writers and directors that I like.
- Gina Davis.
- Al Pacino.
- Brad Pitt.
- Edward Norton.
- Helen Mirren.
- Judy Dench.
There's are a few others. That don't come to mind right now.
Ralph Fiennes
Jodie Whittaker.
Actually, there's several people that I'd watch in anything (the nonsense I've watched specifically because of one person in it....) but she's the current fixation and these lists tend to be populated by men.
None, good actors can't make bad films good.
Damn, I misread the title and thought I was going to see people that nobody wants to see in a movie like Jared Leto and was surprised at all the nice actors that were listed.
