If you're fascist, information is the enemy.

To be fair, Librarians, being educated, tend to lean left. He's not entirely wrong

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 days ago (2 children)

At what point tho do we just step back and realize that reality tends to lean left? Honestly. Like are people that think murder is bad just following the doctrine of some political ideology or did everybody just kind of agree that murder is bad naturally? This whole thing where any educational institution is a brainwashing machine and all cities where intellectuals tend to congregate are brainwashing centers and any organization that tends tends to think certain things is automatically a cultish radical political regime... It's exhausting.

At some point you just have to acknowledge that people start learning stuff and realizing pretty much on their own that stuff is generally bad and other stuff is generally good. I'm so sick of this hiding behind "well there's just no way little Timmy could ever have come up with this idea that all people should be treated with respect and love on his own. He's clearly been the victim of hardcore brainwashing effort."

I know this is unoriginal, but it is 100% correct: every conservative accusation is really a confession. MAGAts are part of a brainwashed cultish radical political organization, so they assume everyone else is.

The left figured that out a while ago, but the powerful few on the right figured out how to shift the US further and further right over time via bribes and "news" media (who are also bribed to push a narrative).

Turns out when you allow people to have that kind of power (in this case via wealth), they will do everything they can to seize as much power as they can, because power is like a drug to sociopaths who want to control people.

So we need to prevent that kind of power from ever being obtained. I like the idea to force all corporations to become worker-owned coops (which will also abolish the stock market as only the workers can own stocks of their company), to have a hard wealth cap of $50m, and to provide all basic necessities to everyone free of charge, paid for by taxdollars. This would also have the effect of removing the reserve army of labor (homeless people) by making them (and everyone else) more comfortable and less desparate, so people won't be reliant on wages to simply survive.

If we had a family member or a neighbor who obsessively hoarded dozens of cats, or filled up rooms with newspapers and pizza boxes, or kept putting busted up cars in the backyard, we would have them mentally evaluated.

But if they hoard wealth beyond what they or their descendants could ever spend, they are considered successful businesspeople to be respected, admired, and emulated. In reality, they are out-of-control hoarders, and the first thing that needs to happen is to remove the item that is the focus of their OCD - their money.

Maybe he means radical in the surfer slang sense.

If they've read the history section, there's a solid chance.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

Of course, all librarians are radically cool.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Anything that's left leaning not near Nazi is radical. Duh.

Librarians are associated with facts and those are his natural enemy.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He needs Alternative Librarians for his Alternative Facts.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

Let's call it what it is. He needs lying fascist librarians for his fascist lies.

[–] [email protected] 60 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Just like a fascist to hate libraries and librarians.

There's no Fascist Fun like a good old-fashioned book burning:

Ohio man accused of burning 100 books on Black, Jewish, LGBTQ history

MAGA Moron got a library card, checked out 100 books, and burned them all, posted it on social media.

If you haven't been described as a radical leftist by now, you need to rethink a few things in your life.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

Aiding and abetting public access to reliable information is radical and forbidden!

Librarians have always been badass defenders of the First Amendment. They can never be beat, least of all by the government.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago

Extremists always attack knowledge and history.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 3 days ago

I attended a Library Science program. Librarians are, in fact, often radical leftists, and it's awesome, and they should be.

"Show us on the doll where the facts touched you."

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 days ago

My local librarians are radical. Like cool radical.

As anyone who's ever had to do research knows the archivists at the National Archive are angels on Earth. The amount of work they do for every single American is amazing. They are such an amazing resource for all of us. One the vast majority of us don't use as much as we should.

Jesus fucking christ! Are the taking the play book out of 1984?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If you had watched the magicians, you would know that librarians are a dangerous bunch.

Or if you've watched Parks and Rec

Wouldn't even let the dog-boys in the doors. And the best part was... Even though the entrance was only 40 feet inside the cave, none of the boys wanted to actually be in the cave. So they circled the rental-Rovers outside the cave entrance and tried to negotiate over the phone.

I've had the pleasure of knowing a handful of librarians and they've all been radical in every sense of the word.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

He can't read, of course he's afraid of librarians.
