Summary

Trump lashed out at bipartisan critics after reports revealed he plans to accept a $400 million Boeing 747-8 jet from Qatar for use as Air Force One.

In a Truth Social post, Trump dismissed concerns as “world class losers” complaining about a transparent gift. Qatar stated the plane is under legal review between its Ministry of Defense and the Pentagon.

Critics, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Chris Murphy, and Rep. Jamie Raskin, accused Trump of corruption and violating the Constitution.

Even allies like Laura Loomer led the MAGA pushback to the jet deal.

Corrupt piece of shit.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Hope he paid the 10% tarrif on that $400 mil plane being shipped here from another country lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

Tariffs for thee, not for me.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 18 hours ago

I saw it in some xitter screenshot. The tariff was the 5.5 billion golf course on his name.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe we will get lucky and he’ll invite musk and other billionaire backers into the plane for its first official flight, at which point Boeing plane does what it does best coupled with a crippled FAA… one can dream.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 19 hours ago

I would like that. Reminds me of that time when 16 Russian admirals bit the dust due to their grift...

He ain't got no mind to lose.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

First of all, he is not "losing his mind". You cannot lose what you already lost decades ago.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

I mean, dementia, Alzheimer's, syphilis syndrome, 70 years of big macs, all impacting a brain that was so fuckin' dumb he lost money running casinos.

hard to say...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

I'd go even further. You can't lose what you've never had.

So....is anyone not thinking that the plane is absolutely chock full of spying devices? I mean sure Trump is too stupid to think of it as anything other than a tribute to his greatness but is there a single sane person there?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh, this jet is going to have more bugs than a rainforest. It will be hilarious and compromising.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

And just wait until he starts keeping classified documents in the airplane lavatory next to the photocopier.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago

i dont think you need to bug trumps planes, he has a big mouth and will say anything for money.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No need for spying devices, he's for sale they can just buy the info they need.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can't remember did I actually read it or hallucinated it, but I remember something about trump "selling" (auctioned?) "dinner with Trump" events and most of the tickets are bought out by "foreign influence". He is clearly selling "chance to influence trump over dinner" tickets knowingly.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Yea the auction ended yesterday.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

There probably is, hence "bipartisan critics"

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

The ol' Trojan plane trick...gets em' everytime.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 day ago

One man's beautiful gift is almost everyone else's blatant corruption.

Of course he cannot accept it. It is not American made. We know American first. And then think of all the tariffs he would need to pay for it!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago

747-8...

not American made

No...that's not the problem.

[–] [email protected] 218 points 1 day ago (15 children)

Besides the obvious corruption, it's a national security issue. I'm not an aircraft designer, but I'm pretty sure there's quite a bit of electronics aboard that craft. Pretty easy to slip in a few listening devices.

[–] [email protected] 81 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be fair, the trump crew don't observe any real security anyway, so all of the more competent competent competitors likely already know our secrets.

I mean, assuming that trump doesn't just tweet them out, he'd absolutely sell our secrets for some graft.

Not to mention the refit to include all the secure communication equipment Air Force One has. Also ECM, active countermeasures, NBC equipment, refuelling, etc.

So trump now owes Qatar a 400 billion dollar favor, it's that simple

(For those not getting it, it's a jab at doge mixing up million and billion)

[–] [email protected] 45 points 1 day ago

He absolutely DOES owe them 400 billion now.

To quote Kurt Hansen from Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. "To make billions, you first need to grease the palms of others with millions".

[–] [email protected] 153 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (7 children)

People just aren't considering the arguments in favor of accepting it, such as how cool it would be to receive what might be the biggest bribe in the history of bribery.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago

Is 400 million more than Kushner got from the Saudis for his apartment buildings?

[–] [email protected] 39 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

There's sadly been much bigger bribes.

Even within his family.

It's certainly the biggest one a president has openly accepted. By, like, 400 million dollars.

What the fuck? Trump ordered new AF1 and 2 from Boeing not long ago.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

He ordered them in his first term. They are currently slated to enter into service in 2029.

That constitution is becoming a real barrier for Trump.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago

Is it though?

Traitors to the Constitution & rule of law applied universally should get only gifts of a short rope and a long drop
