That's the second good reason I've seen to try out Pixelfed in the last week. So maybe it's time. Might as well sign up to Peertube as well. I barely use YouTube as it is (apart from when I'm in the mood for music videos) but a Blåhaj instance of Peertube could be worth signing up for.
I don't know if anyone will come past here and see this stupid question but how do I access someone's profile that's in another instance? I want to follow someone who is on pxlfd.ca but I'm not sure how to translate this link to my instance. And searching their 3 letter username is apparently completely useless. I've tried going into a random profile to see what the url does, so that I can maybe do this myself but the url for someone's profile doesn't actually include a username, just random numbers. So what now?
Edit: just tried the official app. When trying to log in, it opens a page in Firefox because of course it fkn does. Which means that my cheap phone then closes the Pixelfed app in the background. Which means that trying to log in through Firefox does fkn nothing. Great start here.
