The Virginia Democrat, whose constituency includes many federal workers, cited the return of his esophageal cancer — first diagnosed in late 2024 — as the reason for his planned departure.

Ocasio-Cortez is no longer a member of the Oversight Committee and joined Energy and Commerce this year, so she could have a difficult time mounting a comeback bid — though it’s not clear she intends to do so.

Who would have thought itd be bad to give chairmanship to someone with cancer...

They gave him that seat specifically so AOC wouldn't have it, and now that she's moved committees he can retire his newly given seat. Suddenly the cancer is an excuse to not sit on that committee, but it wasn't literally months ago.

They're already setting up to ratfuck AOC out of it again.

From another article on the topic, https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5273998-democrats-oversight-connolly-ranking-member/ :

While Connolly has stepped away from the daily rigors of the ranking membership amid a fight with esophageal cancer, he hasn’t stepped down from the position altogether. Instead, he’s tapped Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), another senior member of the Oversight Committee, to serve as interim ranking member for the indefinite future.

That move places Lynch as the top Democrat on the panel, but without the formalities — including a vote of the full caucus — required to seat a permanent ranking member.

Fuck him and his family right in the ass. You knew you were a washed up feeb the last two times you ran. You refused to pass the torch, and now you're an ineffective limp dick who has been wasting the country's time for decades. Fuck off, we won't remember you. Whoever wins your seat better be a Democrat and they better be willing to fucking clean house

I want to buy you a beer.

It's absolutely pathetic that we're waiting on these old, ineffective waste of spaces to die instead of them moving the fuck out of the way voluntarily.

This party truly needs to just die already.

I feel like these committees don't get enough attention. How many are there, what do they actually do, how much time and effort do they make up? Do they manifest actual change? Who has control of how many of them?

My point is the news never explains these. No one has any idea what they really are. It's just a group title.

Just in case your questions weren't entirely rhetorical...

They used to get 30-60 minutes of air time on NPR everyday, before they had to start keeping up with Trump's Treason.

Cspan, csnbc,NBC,CBS,abc, they had segments dedicated to it at least several times a week, because it's important information that Americans of all different social classes and stratuses want to know.

But now journalists are just trying to keep up with how quickly he's f****** ripping our rights away from us. They don't have the time to actually give you important information. This is not a side effect this was part of Trump's plan.

Get your guns get your ammo get your list of traitora ready. The best place to look is on the heritage foundation membership list and also look for top Trump political donors on opensecrets.org
