Sloths are literally too lazy to go looking for a mate, so a female sloth will often sit in a tree and scream until a male hears her and decides to mate with her (lemmy.world)

My (sloth) dudes, if the chick you want to hook up with just sits there screaming, I would consider that a major red flag.

Partially true. Though female sloths will release a mating call, it looks like a female in estrus will be about 200% more active than normal.
