Star Wars aside, why are there so many pictures of their stuff? Like a close up of knick knacks and a plate of cookies? Are they leaving their shit behind as part of the sale?
Usually not, likely all that furniture is used as props and might be removed if the buyer doesn't want it. Still, why would you post a picture of cookies and stuff when trying to sell a house? Kind of dumb.
You're not paying £1.7m for a house... you're "investing into a lifestyle"... those arty photos will sell it more than any details like dimensions
The photos are a quality that is expected with a real estate agent having a listing at that tax bracket.
If the photos were practical, that agent isn't going to be of a quality that someone of means "deserves" to work with.
There is a giant psychological game that people in a sales position has to play and real estate mind games for high net worth are batshit. Imagine trying to sell shit for Patrick Bateman when the deal could not happen because they got the wrong impression.
I worked as a real estate agent, and you're correct that there is a reason to have those items in the home for tours. You want the house to feel luxurious, open, uncluttered, decorated but with enough space for all the buyer's stuff. You also want it to look like the previous owner was rich and meticulous, giving people a sense that they would have immediately fixed that leaky pipe or paid a pro to install the dishwasher. You bake cookies before an open house or a showing to make the house smell nice.
There's absolutely no reason to take and post a photo of a close up of a little paperweight statue. You don't need a closeup photo of cookies.
I kinda love it. It's a nice pick up between the pretty, but extremely bland, rest of the house.
Don't know that I'd love it six months down the line after some redecorating was done.

I find the concept of a man child creating a isolated male ‘safe space’ where they can play with their toys, watch football and drink beer away from their families quite depressing. Talk to your children Mike, spend time with your wife! Why is the rest of the house incapable of housing your unique requirements? Your wife manages, she doesn’t have a woman cave where she can hide from her ‘loved ones’ and family responsibilities.
I guess this example may not be a designated manex, but instead could just be the families themed cinema / games room, which is fine I guess, ostentatious display of wealth aside.
