I loved winter when it was actually snowing. Now I prefer spring I think.

RULES (updated 01/22/25)
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
- Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
- Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
- Respect privacy as well as truth: Donβt ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

Man, thinking about that makes me so depressed. Growing up we'd have the snow cover lasting for months on end during the winter, commonly several feet of snow too. These days we're lucky if the snow remains for a week before it thaws even at the height of December.
It is amazing how circumstances will mould the things we want. Our yard has been covered by 5 feet of snow since December. All I want is to see some green...
Here in Poland, we have significantly less snow than we used to, but I just enjoy the atmosphere of winter. I totally understand you.
I haaaatteeeee summer. Spring I've got a feeling of impending doom cos it's round the corner. Everything is too hot, too bright and too light. Fucking hate it
Summer in the Pacific Northwest is now just smoke season so, with the exception of like a week during June, my asthmatic ass hanging out inside from March til October, thank you.
I like spring a lot, but I definitely prefer winter to summer. Hot weather does not agree with me!
I'm from India and where I live, summer gets unbearably hot. In my opinion there is nothing in summer to look forward to except mangoes. Winter is wayy better. In my place, it doesn't even get cold except in the early mornings. Once it's a proper day, you wouldn't even know it's winter. It's just a less hot summer.
I'm a summer kind of person, but it's not like I hate winter or anything. There's just fierce competition.
I live in the southeast of the US. Winter is my favorite and summer is miserable. Even spring might as well be summer here. I miss the snow from my childhood in the northeast.
Nope. I love warmth and sunlight.
- Summer is best.
- Spring is good because it means awful cold, miserable, grey Winter is over.
- Autumn is next and it's nice enough but tempered by the terrible knowledge that dull, gloomy, icy Winter is coming.
- Winter is worst. Three fucking months of misery and dejection. Not even Christmas makes up for it.
Nope, coldness and darkness makes me physically and mentally ill.
No love for autumn? It's the best weather and the best produce in season.
I love the cold way more than the heat. But since it doesn't snow where I live, I tend to prefer spring and fall more than winter itself, just because winter has nothing but the cold while spring and fall have the visual vibes (flowers blooming in spring, leaves changing color in fall). And also aren't too cold so being in the sun actually feels nice and not like I am cooking.
No, even here I like summer better than winter. Love the long days, the afternoon storms, it's too hot but that still feels better to me than cold. Plus the snowbirds go back to their summer homes up north so traffic gets easier.
Winter is nice for gardening though, can grow more things here in the winter.
Florida? NW here.
West Central Florida, the growing zone 10. Those daily thunderstorms in the summer are so beautiful. When I was a kid they were like clockwork, then they failed and there was a drought, but they seem to be back for now. Even the flooding in the parks, the "seasonal wetlands" as my ex used to call them, it is so beautiful, wading birds and frog noises. Love summer.
I do not. Seasonal depression beats me up and makes me exhausted. I love being in the sun
Yes, another above like, 23C is too hot for me.
Unfortunately I live in Australia and that's most days.
Take care and stay strong.
Fall is my favorite here in the southeast US. Cooler weather, beautiful foliage on the trees, and much much less pollen than in Spring.
I prefer winter because the cold numbs my chronic pain. The outside world is also a lot quieter. However, the icy and slower roads and the wet muck from the snow are a massive negative.
If I could afford to live somewhere that was summer every single day I would.
I see you left out autumn. Clearly because you know it's the best season, above discussion
Yes, cause there's more hours when I can venture outdoors without bursting into flames.
Absolutely not.
Okey, for me classic seasons no longer exist.
I have cold (no or little snow), hot (with heavy rain sometimes), and wet (but rain isn't guaranteed) sessons.
So, I like transition between cold and hot, which lasts for 1-2 months. It's windy (unfortunately), rarely rains.
Autumn is my favourite I guess :3
In terms of just winter and summer both have pros and cons, namely summer is too hot, but there's fruit in the garden, and the opposite for winter
When I'll rule the world, we'll have to season: summer and not summer! Any temperature under 15Β°C will be banned, and sheeps will be used for milk only!
I love all four seasons.
I prefer light, though. So, it's harder during winter to have that same stupid smile I have right now, while I'm writing this comment looking by the window at the bright blue sky that's been patiently waiting for me to step outside and enjoy a long walk in the city ;)
Winterβs depressive, summerβs too hot, the two other are fine
Itβs wonderful to read all your opinions!
I like winter better. Things around here are often on fire during the summer.
Honestly, I think winter, because while I can easily protect myself against the cold by wearing thick, warm clothes, I can't really protect myself agains the heat. Even if I walk around naked, it's still gonna be hit as fuck.
I'd like winter if it was a blanket of snow making everything pretty and white. But the last few years it's just been gray and brown with a day of snow before it melts.
Winter is the best! No need for air conditioning and the fact that we get to use sweaters and blankets all season. Plus the hot drinks are nice and warm you up.
It really depends on where I am. Winter in a city sucks. Winter in the mountains is awesome. Summer in Phoenix sucks. Summer on the Albanian Riviera is awesome.
Most definitely prefer winter. I moved from the south to the north US and I adore all of the snow, cold, and lack of sun. Don't have to apply sunscreen and can go sledding. Summer in the north sucks cuz there's not as much AC as there is down south.
One thing I miss are the cicadas and frogs. There's some up here, but they don't get in a chorus nearly as much as back home. The summer storms I miss a lot too. Apparently the closer you get to the equator, the more thunderstorms happen. I do not miss the temps getting into the 100Fs WITH 100% humidity.
Yes. I love the cold, lack of sweat, comfy clothes and being cozy at home while it's cold outside.
I dislike that hanging clothes tomdry takes forever unless it's an exceptionally dry day.
I love winter. Nothing beats the feeling of waking up on a freezing morning and putting on a good warm woolen jumper
I prefer summer, even Australian summer.
I used to when I was in middle school. But now I get all my happiness from my bike. So when I can't ride it life is crud. Winter can still be fun tho. Snowboarding is cool
Thanks so much for all of your opinions and responses.
No. It's cold all the time. It's dark most of the time I'm not stuck in an office. The scenery looks dead and barren. And even when we do get snow it's a dusting of the credit non packable kind and mostly melts by the next day so the kids can't even enjoy it.
I prefer winter in general, although spring can be nice.
I find 10 degrees Celsius to be about perfect.
The problem with the hotter seasons is that the clouds are fading as well, so it's not only hot but also all the sunshine on top of that.
In the winter it's pretty nice when the clouds are gone. It's still cold then.
I like sunshine for the light, not the heat.
Yeah those six and a half days are pretty sweet
I find I complain less about cold weather than I do about hot weather... But I still like having the different seasons.
I love the spring, seeing the trees and flowers starting to bloom.
I hate the snow and the dark of winter.
Winter is easily my favorite. California heat makes me want to die
