196 on kbin.social seems less active than on lemmy (andnlemmy seemed to have communities I likes), so lemmy was the clear winner for me

You can see kbin on a lemmy account but i'm too tired to explain how and i think you might know that anyways

Kbin is a combined implementation of Lemmy and Mastodon that works with both. You can view and post to Lemmy instances via Kbin and vice versa. That said, much like Lemmy it's still being developed, so there are still bugs and inconsistencies that sometimes cause Kbin and Lemmy/Mastodon to not quite communicate with each other properly.

The one thing I've noticed is that Kbin's federation with blahaj specifically is a bit lagged. Posts only show up after a pretty significant delay, usually about an hour. Also I've yet to be able to successfully make a top-level image post from Kbin to any other instance, so that's annoying.

For example, this just showed up over here on kbin.

Something is broken between here and blahaj zone, and blahaj zone specifically. I don't have the problems I have with posts from any other instance

Oh I know, but its been two months since kbin launched and the mobile app experience still isn't there. And PWAs are not as good. It's not even a competition, Sync for Lemmy is just an order of magnitude better.

I do hope kbin continues to get PRs though, we don't want another matrix/element or ejabberd being the only implementation of the protocol.
