“Wings fall off” switch.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (4 children)

As someone that builds the wings, I can whoele heartedly tell you that there probably isn't a button that makes the wings fall off.

How about a dead man's switch if the subscription isn't renewed?

Wings as a Service (WaaS)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

What if they need to replace the wings quickly? Not having a button that makes the wings fall off sounds very inefficient and frankly irresponsible.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

Ahhh, probably™

That button was when Boeing cheaped out and stopped making the wings in North America.

Most of the wing structures are made in the good ol' USA. The machinery required is a scale that no one is willing to invest in, even Boeing....

Okay so what I know is that there used to be a Canadian company that made the wing frame for them. Had a giant CNC machine that would cut it from one aluminum block, even the 747.

What I was told is that they offshored it.

I know that those guys make stuff for Cessna now.

Will it be next to the goat sound button?

Wings? What wings? Elon will come out with a wingless plane design like a fucking tuna can and then be praised for his stupidity.

"Defence". They trust "defence"/planes to Elon Musk, to Russia's puppet. Oh shit... I think Boeing airplanes' security will decrease lol.

I wonder what will happen. Will the doors fly off, or will it catch fire by itself. Hopefully both. And soon.

I thought he wanted to reduce spending. This seems like a very expensive endeavor.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

Boing can save a lot of money by eliminating quality control, safety procedures and firing all the expensive and experienced workers, and staff the operation by minimum wage workers.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Where did you think the money "saved" was gonna go?

Boeing: Oh, you want a plane now? No problem. We thought you wanted one that actually flew

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

rest assured that the plane will fly, it’s the landing part that might be a problem.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago

I support this.

Let's watch it play out.

The all new Tesla Cyb-airforce X! Looks like if the F-117A and a dumpster had a baby, and then put that baby into another dumpster that wasn't it's mother. Is the opposite of stealth. So heavy it requires a support plane to help it fly.
