Thompson reportedly collided with projectiles at high speed in a bicyclist-involved incident

[-] [email protected] 33 points 7 months ago

Thompson was the head of a US-based terrorist organization that operates with full legal complicity from the US government, known for its part in making billions off of the plight of sick people.

It is kind of satisfying to report on them like they report on others.

Watch anticommunists unjokingly say that this murder of one white cishet capitalist man is infinitely more important than the annihilation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

my proff just said it was a truly horrific pre-planned murder

I wonder if his insurance covers this

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

I heard he was actually transported to a hospital that doesn't accept his company's insurance lol

They say that there's never a reason to use a pie chart, but they are wrong. This is the one.

Experts don't want you to know this but this is what actually climate activism looks like

You know, the interesting thing about this is so far, from the places I'm seeing online, it's pretty consistent that the most anti-this-happening statement regular people make is along the lines of like "I don't condone violence, but..." with the "but" bringing up the damage done in specifics by these insurance companies.

And even what I saw on reddit looked more like here than lib pearl clutching.

I think it speaks to the commonality of suffering, how broad the impact of the health system is for people who are in the US. Like it's a very personal thing, not just a matter of having "the right ethical stance" on something broader like imperialism. It is probably hard to find people in the US who don't either: 1) know someone who has been impacted by health insurance fuckery, or 2) been impacted personally.

Being a CEO is a pre-existing condition that disqualifies him from being insured against grievous injury by proletariat.

I am genuinely and sincerely curious about how large the overlap is for people celebrating this but denouncing the Palestinians for resisting THEIR oppressors. I hope that piece of the venn diagram is very very small. It would give me hope.

I'm noticing this weird narrative going around that this guy is just a dumb amatuer. But....I don't think anyone actually called him a pro, so what are they implying?
