Seeing as I can build a wooden longbow much more easily than a wooden crossbow, I'll go with the longbow.

I like crossbows, but that's because I'm more of a sword person. The crossbow in a lot of fantasy lit and the like is viewed as more of a sidearm in a pinch. While I respect the longbow, it ain't for me.

Longbow is easier to make yourself, but I like to overcomplicate all my projects so I choose crossbow

Really like crossbows but I've never really been strong enough to draw one without doing it gastraphetes style.

Historically shortbows were the bow of choice of people in my country and there's still yew trees all over where I live as a lasting impact of that.
