Should I not get a cat because it won’t eat vegan foods? I could get vegan kibble, but don’t really want to create dietary issues for the cat.

I would suggest not getting a cat. You could look into rabbits, they're apparently actually quite friendly and it's very possible to litter train them. They don't live as long as cats and they will chew every wire they can get their little jaws on, but other than that, they're apparently a very reasonable option for people who want a vegan cat.

If my partner wasn't super allergic to pet dander, I think we'd probably get a rabbit. bunny-vibe

Please don’t do vegan kibble. Cats are obligate carnivores, and do very poorly on plant based diets because they can’t digest it properly and don’t get good nutrition from it. Frankly, vegan cat food should be banned for being inhumane.

I'm waiting in getting a cat until there are better studies on vegan cat food (or vegan lab-grown meat). Vegan cat food might already be fine but I'd feel really bad if I got a pet and made it really sick because of a food choice.

Please adopt a rabbit. There are SOOO many that need homes.
