3-4 more hurricanes gonna hit back to back. Giant toxic chemical clouds in Georgia. A protracted labor battle at the ports.

I don't think any of this will be enough to collapse America unfortunately. Nothing ever happens kitty-cri-potato

it's gonna be like letting air out of leaky pool float

the pool is filled with blood

Our position as the international hegemon is definitely in decline, but yeah outright collapse doesn't seem likely.

Look at Britain; just a century ago they were in the position we are in now. They're no longer at the head of global empire, but all their political structures and institutions still exist today prettymuch unchanged.

I think Britain was propped up by the US and the rest of the EU. They severed their connection to the EU which has already massively backfired, and the US won't bail out the UK anymore if the US is also collapsing

INB4 gammons have the bright idea to beg the US to make them the 51st state.

"America Collapsing" is what I hope for every month.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 weeks ago

American, with vested material interest in the status quo.

It can't fucking happen fast enough for me to be happy.

MFW we’re literal communists and we probably care more about the well-being of this country than its so-called ‘patriots’.

Bernie was the compromise. No more half measures. The world is ending and only we can stop it.

The wine cave liberals really, really enjoy death and suffering, especially if they can watch it on their screens. It is like their Prestige TV treats, but authentic. Authenticity is very valuable to the bored idle rich. libbing-out 🍷 clink 🍷 maybe-later-honey

Jesus Christ there's a giant centipede in the middle of the Atlantic no wonder folks are freaking out

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

The size of the centipede is distorted by Mercator projection, it’s not that big, don’t worry.

It eats the other sea leviathans, so it's good to let it skitter around untroubled.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago

And yet the government insists on sending more money to Israel, instead of doing the sensible thing with the money: Building giant mechs to fight the centipede in the Atlantic before it reaches the coast

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What if we just ended America here, before the election? It could happen.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago

And now an existential war of ideologies in the middle east

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

3-4 more hurricanes

Where’s that from?

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 weeks ago

Usually the ocean

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

clickbait bullshit

there are several named storms in the Atlantic rn (Ivan, Joyce, & Kirk), none of which are expected to hit the continental US

there's a depression forming in the gulf that won't be a hurricane but could dump an unfortunate amount of rain on all the areas hit by Helene

there's another depression forming off the eastern coast of Africa that is likely to turn into Tropical Storm Leslie, but it's gonna take a few days to a week to see if that happens and how she decides to move across the ocean

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago

I’ll bet they don’t get anything worse than Helene this season but this strike is pretty unbelievable
