I typically enjoy informative videos about socialism or ancient history but nothing is standing out to me today. What do y'all recommend. Nothing too heavy or about current events, can't deal with those thoughts rn lol.

To give an idea I typically watch youtubers like historytime, yugopnik, and hakim or documentaries about basically anything really.

entire series is super good to just listen to/watch while really high, especially the later episodes. The earlier Birth of Civilization series he did is also really good, as is his video on the Voynich Manuscript. Good channel.

The "this old ledge" series by Thrasher. It's architecture and skate spot history, pretty cool!

I've been watching the show Nautilus which is a retelling of the Jules Verne classic, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and it's pretty great. Also the main antagonist is the East India Trading Company and a bunch of british nonces so that's a bonus.

That is indeed a bonus. I had a picture book version as a kid amd was gifted the original recently. Might give it a read

Garden State (2006) - then maybe you can make peace with your demons (pushing your mom down the stairs and then she breaks her neck on the dishwashing machine I'm not sure if that's what the underlying trauma is but it's a good excuse to watch a sadcore indie movie)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribulation_99:_Alien_Anomalies_Under_America

"Tribulation 99: Alien Anomalies Under America is a 1991 science fiction collage film directed by Craig Baldwin. The film presents a chronicle of U.S. involvement in Latin America through a pseudo-documentary about an alien invasion."

It's informative, it's ancient history, it's aliens, it's funny, it's got a great soundtrack, and it's an awesome stoned watch. It's completely made up from clips from other media. There's a copy of it on Internet Archive last time I checked - it's only about an hour long.
