Hell yes, the energy around the campaign has transformed overnight into an excited, hopeful one, rather than the constant feel of existential dread that everyone seemed to be steeping in until now.

To be honest I was worried the US would be just too sexist and too racist for it to work but I am pleasantly surprised. Back when Hillary was running, we saw a lot of ugly stuff and I am sure they will try that again but somehow I don't think its is going to work as well at this point in time and with this candidate.
The felon has been throwing out vile crap continuously for years now and I think its impact has worn thin and he is weaker than he was. I feel confidant Harris will be much better equipped to fight back than Clinton was.
Clinton was kind of forced on the democrats, and they saw how Bernie- a serious contender- was railroaded out.
That, and a lot of voter apathy going- "no way will Trump win."
I feel a lot better about Harris than Clinton.
Bernie is such a cool dude. I really want to see a timeline where he became president
Clinton did win the primary (even without super delegates), so “forced on democrats” is only true in a sense. She was certainly the preferred candidate of party leadership, and they did everything they legally could to help her win. Major center and center left news outlets also seemed to do everything they could to help her win.
But I don’t think harris is any better in that regard. She has not won a primary, Clinton at least managed to win the primary. Arguably Harris has been even more forced upon Democratic voters.
I suspect that this is going to become a huge issue and talking point later on.
Well put, technically correct but viscerally wrong on every human regard. You sound like canned AI.
I wanted a primary, we didn’t get that, and the media is pushing Harris hype really hard right now, just like they pushed for Clinton.
To me, this feels like 2016 all over again, that’s MY visceral reaction. Fucking weird to accuse some one of being an AI because they disagreed with your assessment.
Nah, only because your sentence selection sounded canned, like I've seen the same sentences again and again by, you know.....bots.
So anyway, she was voted into office to take over if Biden died and no, there wasn't a primary for her but Biden is done and you gotta make the choice between a shit sandwich and a douche.
I get what you're saying.
weird to accuse some one of being an AI because they disagreed with your assessment.
That's what a well trained AI would say...
Also, Vote Copilot 2028 🫣
I want to argue.... but I can't. You're right.
This isn't surprising to me.
The last few days have felt like Obama fever all over again, which is a good and a bad thing in my book.
It's good in the sense that Trump is way too Nazi-Adjacent for me to think his loss would be a bad thing. It's a bad thing because Harris, like Obama and Biden, will be a billionaire's president if elected, and the US will therefore become more fascist, not less.
How are they a billionaire's president but Trump wasn't? His cabinet singlehandedly undid more regulations and taxes on corporations than maybe any other.
Who are the billionaires? Cause it seems that Kamala is heavily against fracking, so I'm guessing not the oil billionaires?
Not trying to be dismissive, genuinely curious
Plus the net worths of Trump's cabinet is basically the highest in history:
- Betsy Devos (Education): $2 billion
- Wilbur Ross (Commerce): $600 million
- Steve Mnuchin (Treasury): $400 million
Linda McMahon is worth $3 billion but was "only" SBA administrator, not a cabinet secretary.
Jared Kushner is from a family whose net worth is in the billions between all of them, and he got his dad a pardon.
Let's not forget major donors like the Adelsons, the Kochs, and everyone else.
Yes, Democrats have some billionaires on their side, but the balance isn't even close.
Why does it not surprise me that Betsy DeVoss, sister to Black Water's Erik Price, is a multi-billionaire who singlehandedly undid more for education in this country. Awesome.
I daresay I’m feeling a little hope.
