Literal glass ceilings
I've been thinking about world building a lot recently. My first thoughts did sort of run along these lines. Characters were definitely not a consideration
I really enjoy creating my own settings and doing worldbuilding. However, I don't really care for classical storytelling like you see in novels. I don't want to write a story about the hero's journey. I would rather spend my time inventing myths and the history of places that will never be.
Sure, there are characters in my worldbuilding, but they are not the focus of it, even the super important ones.
At least one book of Wheel of Time was created exactly like that, but i don't think author even got to the 2nd point there.
