And no, you cannot find the original post anymore. At least it's missing for me, the OP, unless I locate it through inbox history.

Coincidentally, the meme was about mods on shitposts lol. I'll be banned soon 🫡

Hey that's me!

reason: lemmy.ml rule 1 ("butt hurt")

I'm not really butt hurt. I'm actually a mod myself, but for a tiny community that doesn't get a bunch of awful comments. I really do have respect for the amount of garbage the mods in [email protected] and [email protected] have to go through. Most of the comments they remove are completely valid.

But this is a meme sub so...

What the heck did you just hecking say about me, you little mod? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the lemmy.world Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda.ml, and I have over 300 confirmed comments. I am trained in gorilla shitposting and I'm the top sniper in the entire fediverse armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another mod. I will wipe you the heck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my hecking words. You think you can get away with saying that poopy to me over the Internet? Think again, meanypants. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the fediverse and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, picklebrain. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your modlog. You're hecking over, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can comment at you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in verbal combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the lemmy Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable bubblebutt off the face of the Internet, you little bozo. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" mod action was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your hecking finger. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goshdarn dumbo. I will poop butthurt comments all over you and you will drown in it. You're hecking done, kiddo.

I really loved your comment. I tried to reply to you, but obv couldn't. Then tried to PM you, but couldn't figure it out or I just can't.

It was really insightful for both perspective on myself and on the community.

Oh thanks I appreciate it, I think it was a solid meme. No community is perfect, but at least it's easy to find an alternative community if one ends up... not being a good fit lol

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

now if we could just get some real mods @ lemmy.world...

[-] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

Complaining about the rules is, ironically, against the rules. I found that out the hard way.

[-] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

The reason for the removal is even worse. Luckily there are alternative meme communities.

Go on....

Just curious if you can.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yet you participate in a society...

Seriously, though, we have many flavors of ice cream here, choose one that you fancy and don't focus on changing one... unless you're a mod, lmao

I was confused for a second because I use Thunder with a similar look, too

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I had exactly the same issue, OLED dark mode, too.

I remember making a comment once on .ml about how a news source they linked isn't too credible, with mediafactbiascheck as source for that claim (as the site had historically gotten their news wrong), and the comment got removed for "blogspamming" or something lmao

There's certainly a degree of powertripping going over there with the mods, and I do feel like this one is gonna be removed as well for "bigotry" against mods or something

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Up vote for Thunder 😉

Lemmy slowly but surely become Reddit 2.0

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Ehh, the fragmented nature helps prevent systemic abuses that encourage that redditoid behavior, and also encourages instance hopping more regularly than once a decade.

Dumping that reddit behavior should be a lot easier now.

[-] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago

Imagine being this upset about comments on a largely anonymous forum being deleted, if you care that much you can look in the modlog

[-] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

That's actually what my deleted comment was about, looking at the reasons given in the modlog for deleting comments. Inb4 this comment gets deleted too lmao

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Doesn't lemmy.ml always complain about their comments being deleted by lemmy.world? Sounds like most people care about this issue.
