    He likely would've gotten a lighter sentence if he showed some remorse to the judge but he couldn't even muster it and just spouted some weak bible nonsense instead.

    the inclusion of the word sweetheart here, and the dickish way it came off, was intentional parody of the way liberals condescend to and infantilize people they disagree with when they lecture to them, usually while on some level saying something evil or dismissive of blatant suffering

    often the word "sweaty" is used instead of sweetie or sweetheart to really drive the point home
