[–] [email protected] 17 points 7 months ago (1 children)

A line from Death Stranding with a lot of wisdom to it:

"Fuck America."

[–] [email protected] 16 points 7 months ago (2 children)

It's so weird how Kojima seems to recognize all the ways America is evil and yet is still a massive Ameriboo.

certainly helps with being able to sell in the American market.

Honestly, American citizens nowadays just aren't as patriotic as they used to be.

Which can only be a good thing.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Fuck America. And fuck Biden. This happened under him. Be under no illusion that things will ever get better under capitalism.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

We must create dual power.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Thank you for sharing. Somehow disheartening and unsurprising at the same time.

Stay strong comrades, we've come so fucking far.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Can't give up now.

I'm not trans, but I feel that a storm is coming for us Autistic comrades as well.

More and more anti-Autistic sentiment and anti-Autistic bullshit lately.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Okay when there were rumblings about autism testing being instated at gender clinics... in theory I def support people discovering their neurotypes since there's a high crossover rate, but my gut reaction was "someone is going to use this mechanism to oppress and fuck with one or both of these communities".

Also trans-autism solidarity. Comrades.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Forced diagnoses for autistic trans people would be really bad. Would force them into the margins even more, and make emigration even harder.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Yeah exactly, also fucking forget about adoption even harder than usual. This is not a good intersection.

I re-read that summarised list of Umberto Eco's common features of fascism a few days ago and this time it just hit differently.

I realised this "fascism" thing, this "nazism" thing.. we (speaking for myself at least) were taught, sure, it's a potential in the collective mass of all societies of people.. but it's a potential that is exploited by a big #rare unique dude who sometimes appears and brings out the worst in everyone, was what I believe I was taught.

But no. I'm coming to understand that fascism and its ilk are emergent. These traits can and do arise on their own without much meddling and certainly not always with benign intentions on the face of them. But you get enough at the same time and it's not a #rare unique dude seizing the day. It's the masses who create the dude. It's collective brainrot. It's why these "great leaders" are always so fkn pathetic in retrospect and through the eyes of anyone not mesmerised. It's what happens when we let ourselves and our fellow beings stop tending to our mental gardens etc.

I fear some of these traits are even fostered on this site^*^, despite the very best of meaning and intent, I fear we are all creating a monster we can barely comprehend.

~*~ not tryna have a struggsesh, this is the best site on the internet. Just, mildly alarmed at the notion that perhaps this shit is so inevitable it will even pervert our good will.

It's rather sad to read the comments and it's trans people who haven't been radicalized talking about how running for office or going to courts can fix this. I wish them all a very "lose trust in the liberal establishment" day.

Death to America, fuck all ghouls that passed these laws.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No, as communists, we have to get involved in politics. PSL, CPUSA, and FRSO are right to run in elections.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I am not against running in elections or trying to get the anti-trans laws shot in court. On the long term it won't solve the anti-trans push, which I thought people in the comments were implying but rereading them I misunderstood, sorry.

Let me know if you can access the PDF and if there are any problems.

Also, if you can access the web page.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Both links are working fine for me. And now to consume this fresh news hellworld.

No no, not at all!

This serving of misery arrived fresh and on time, with two whole functioning links. Really, no complaints at all!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Yes, it came medium-well.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

"See, this is why y'all need to vote blue! What do you mean Biden's already the president?"

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

I might vote for Biden, frankly. I don't want Republicans to have any more power, going by what Glenn Youngkin did to my state.

Edit: Though I think that communists in general should start with running for local, municipal, and state elections as well as union elections and board appointments.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I might vote for Biden,

Thats fair enough, its a scary situation to be in and it isn't as if its voting day for americans tomorrow. I'm not from there and I haven't studied the american political system in detail, genuinely curious as to what voting for Biden might do that would guarantee Republicans not having more power at the state level?

Glenn Youngkin is an american businessman and politician...

Cancer on this earth, hope he literally rots in a gulag.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I don't want Trump emboldening MAGAt militias and enacting Plan 2025, which could be used to target people in Virginia as well. Oh yeah, and the electorate thinking that shit is "normal" and just voting for more of Glenn Youngkin or whatever his successor might be.

In addition, it has more to do with how Glenn Youngkin fucked up Virginia and started the anti-CRT scare to begin with. Knowing that, I don't want Trump to do that on top of what Glenn Youngkin has already done.

With that said, I might just go with the "Devil I know" rather than Trump, who seems primed to use Plan 2025.

But I'm still not certain.

Also, a trans comrade (communist) has pushed me to consider voting for Biden and her Latin American home country (which I have my heritage from) is not that good either.

I'm Turkish and Latino (I keep that part of my heritage hidden and just say "Latino).

I've seen how ultra-right forces get entrenched and so I'll probably vote for the milquetoast bourgeois politicians for the federal and state levels.

I'm also disabled so I don't want to be a target after Plan 2025.
