Russo-Ukrainian War: Leak Biopsy (bigserge.substack.com)

I have seen a few mentions of these recent Pentagon leaks about Ukraine's "spring counter-offensive" in the comments here so i gather that there are some comrades that have an interest for this sort of thing. From what i can tell this article does a good job summing up the most relevant big picture information that can be learned from these documents.

Warning: the author has thrown in a queerphobic "joke" for absolutely no reason which is very annoying and detracts from an otherwise professional piece.

  • Armed civilians without giving them a uniform. Breach of Geneva Conventions
  • Ukrainian special forces command said Russian artillerymen will no longer be taken prisoner and will "all be killed for being complicit in criminal orders". Killing surrendering soldiers is a war crime. Collective punishment is also one. Edit: they have since taken that statement back. I have not.
  • Did not activate air raid sirens to warn civilian populations of artillery and air strikes. People have already died because of this; Russia gave warnings as per protocol which Ukraine did not relay in time.
  • As per the discovery of biological labs near the border with Russia, there is a very serious possibility Zelensky is guilty of producing biological weapons. The labs have been confirmed by the US gov, but no proof yet that they were meant for biological warfare.
  • Forcing battles to happen in civilian zones, thus exposing them to danger and preventing their protection.
  • Possibility of using child soldiers, as the Ukrainian army is now training children to use AKs, during wartime.
  • Ukrainian forces were (accidentally) caught using Red Cross vans to transport soldiers and materiel. The symbol of the cross itself can only be used by the organisation and is protected under the Geneva Conventions; it can only be used by medical units who must then be treated like civilians.

Feel free to contribute. (the list above only reflects crimes Zelensky himself can be responsible for, to the best of our knowledge based on information that comes out of Ukraine. This list is also not legal advice, as only a trial will be able to determine which crimes have been committed and who is responsible for them).

"This year, the first of the 64 multirole F-35A fighter jets purchased by Finland from the United States will begin to be delivered," Pavel Kuznetsov said

The first of 64 US-made multirole fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear weapons will enter Finland’s arsenal this year, Russian Ambassador to Finland Pavel Kuznetsov said in an interview with TASS.

"This year, the first of the 64 multirole F-35A fighter jets purchased by Finland from the United States will begin to be delivered, and they are capable, if desired, of carrying nuclear weapons," the diplomat said.

Kuznetsov added that new corvettes are being built at shipyards, which will be equipped with "the most advanced NATO weaponry, including cruise missiles and torpedoes." "A large-scale rearmament program for the ground forces has been launched, including the purchase of intermediate-range missiles and ballistic missiles," he said.

Kuznetsov specified that Finland plans to spend more than €6 billion on these goals by 2030.

The list of addresses of companies in Europe that manufacture UAVs for strikes against Russia, published by the Russian Defense Ministry, should be viewed as a list of potential targets for the country’s army, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev wrote on X.

"Russian Defense Ministry’s statement must be taken literally: the list of European facilities which make drones and other equipment is a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces. When strikes become a reality depends on what comes next. Sleep well, European partners!" he stated.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry published the names and addresses of Ukrainian and other foreign companies in Europe that manufacture UAVs used to strike Russia.

Russia forces have taken new positions north of the settlement of Berestok near Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), military expert Andrey Marochko said.

"As for the Konstantinovka section, quite serious fighting is currently underway here. According to the reports I am receiving, we have progress north of the settlement of Berstok, where our troops have taken new positions," he said.

He told TASS earlier that Russian forces are advancing near Konstantinovka, despite the Ukrainian army’s fierce resistance.

On March 22, shortly after the spring equinox, the Hitlerite core of the Azov movement could not resist the urge to highlight the 1488th day of the Russo-Ukrainian war, simply because this is the favorite number of many neo-Nazis around the world. In the 1980s, U.S. neo-Nazi leader David Lane wrote his Fourteen Words (“We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”) and “88 Precepts” in a prison cell. “88” (H.H.) is a well-known code for “Heil Hitler.”

The Snake Island Institute (SII) is a military think tank on the rise and a central node in the “Azov Lobby.” Shortly before launching SII last year, its president Vladyslav Sobolevsky and executive director Maryna Hrytsenko visited Washington, D.C. with a delegation from the Azovite 3rd Assault Brigade. Sobolevsky, an alleged war criminal, was a deputy commander of that openly neo-Nazi unit, and before 2022, deputy chief of staff of the “National Corps,” the political party of the Azov movement.

April 11, 18:07: The Ukrainian Armed Forces hit the Kursk and Belgorod regions during the Easter truce.

"Today, an enemy drone attacked a gas station in the city Lgov. According to preliminary information, three people were injured, including a — one-year-old child. He has a shrapnel wound to the head. The enemy’s vile strike occurred after 16:00", Kursk Governor Alexander Khinshtein wrote in MACH.

The child's mother and a civilian were also injured and were hospitalized.

In the Belgorod region in Shebekino, a man received a barotrauma due to a UAV hitting a car. In Grayvoron, a woman was injured due to the detonation of a drone.

The Easter truce announced by President Vladimir Putin came into force today at 16:00 and will remain in effect until the end of tomorrow. Moscow proceeded from the fact that Kiev would follow suit and stop hostilities. At the same time, the troops were instructed to be ready to stop possible provocations from the enemy.

Previously Vladimir Zelensky he claimed that Ukraine would comply with the ceasefire.

Last year, Russia also announced an Easter truce, which the head of the Kiev regime allegedly accepted. Upon completion, the Ministry of Defense reported more than 4,900 violations on the Ukrainian side.

In recent weeks, the Russian Ministry of Defense has been reporting mainly on strikes against enemy concentration areas and on the fact that Russian units "have improved their positions along the forward edge." Let us try to understand what this means, using the example of one of the most active directions—the Zaporozhye direction and its junction with the Dnepropetrovsk direction.

Operating in these directions are the Russian army groups "East" and "Dnepr." By the end of the autumn-winter campaign on the eastern sector of the Zaporozhye direction, its junction with the southern sector of the Dnepropetrovsk direction, as well as on the central sector (Kushgum - Orekhov) of the Zaporozhye direction, the Russian Armed Forces took control of large areas of territory and many settlements. However, there is no continuous line of positions; the line is built between strongholds and defense areas that have their own zones of responsibility and sectors of fire impact on the enemy. In the second echelon, control is exercised by establishing checkpoints and introducing filling units into sectors: second echelons of formations, rear units and subunits, Rosgvardia units, military police units, large-caliber artillery, and repair bases. All of this must be positioned, protected, camouflaged, connected to supply lines for all types of provisions and communications, and have its own specific tasks and goals within the framework of the overall concept of the high command.

Coordination is organized among this diverse array of branches, arms of service, and special forces. Moreover, large concentrations of personnel and equipment are not permitted (everything is dispersed), as reconnaissance of all types (on both sides) easily detects these concentrations and immediately strikes them with all means of fire destruction.

Breakthrough actions and the concentration of necessary forces and means are achieved by individual groups moving out from different points, arriving within a strictly limited time frame into a designated area at initial positions from which offensive operations begin. Or each group (unit) moves out from its own area directly onto the main axis with a clearly defined task in terms of time and location. The personnel, while carrying out their task, may not even see or understand the overall concept of their senior commander, understanding only that their neighbors to the right and left are also gnawing at the enemy. This type of action requires a high quality of troop command, reconnaissance, communications, and coordination—both between neighboring units (groups) and between the various branches and arms of service.

East Group Area of Responsibility; The two solid blue lines with blue dashes between them represent the Anti-Tank ditch in front of Orekhov. The single solid blue line with blue dashes running parallel to it represents the Pokrovskoe-Gulyaipole defense line. The blue arches running along a solid blue line represent the Novonikolaevka to Orekhov defense line. Where you see blue arches facing alternating directions, that represents blocking positions of the AFU. The yellow line with red dots is the line of combat contact as of February 3rd, 2026.

The pause that occurs during the consolidation of territories must be used actively: understanding that the enemy has been pushed back to a more advantageous position in an already prepared and supported operational space, and that any pause on our part will be used by him to achieve his own goals and seize the initiative. During these periods, the high command may allow the enemy to demonstrate controlled initiative in order to uncover his intentions, determine his concentration areas through his activity and the direction of his transport movements, and identify the direction of his counterattacks.

In the directions we are examining, the enemy has shown activity and launched large-scale counterattacks on the following axes: Dobropasovo - Pokrovskoe - Boykovo (southeastern sector of the Dnepropetrovsk direction),

This configuration of Ukrainian counterattacks was anticipated and appears natural:

a) counterattacks against the right flank of the "East" Group, along the Gaichur River, with the task of recapturing lost elements of the Gaichur defensive line and restoring it;

b) counterattacks into the bases of the line of contact salient in the area of the settlement of Rizdvyanka, on the Boykovo - Vozdvizhevka line and the settlement of Gorkoe, with the same goal;

c) counterattacks from the line along the Konka River and the H-08 front-line supply route (Kamyshevakha - Grigorovka), with the task of eliminating the Zaporozhnoe - Rechnoe salient and reaching the Novoyakovlevka - Primorskoe line, in order to eliminate the threat of a deep envelopment by the Russian Armed Forces of the Orekhov sector along the Novoyakovlevka - Yurkovka axis.

Based on this, the Russian Armed Forces, in these directions and sectors, are exhausting the counterattacking Ukrainian units in active defense, inflicting fire damage on their advancing reserves and groups maneuvering along the line of contact, as well as on the deployment areas of their second echelons (Lyubitskoe, Obshchee, Kushgum). In this way, the enemy's tactical advantage (a pre-prepared operational space) is being eliminated, and conditions are being prepared for his further defeat.

During these operations, Russian forward units may withdraw from their positions and reoccupy them, lure the enemy into fire pockets and into areas of concentrated fire, maneuver along the line of contact, counterattack, and so on.

This is active defense. Therefore, we regard the "everything is lost — everything is stolen" laments of certain "experts" with a calm and steady gaze.

Victory will be ours!

On the morning of April 7, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled a school in the village of Velykaya Znamyanka in the Zaporozhye Region.

There were children in the school when the attack took place.

Ten, with seven children being among them, are wounded, the region’s governor, Yevgeny Balitsky said.

As a result of the attack, the deputy head of the Kamenka-Dneprovsky municipal district, Alexander Reznichenko, was killed while evacuating children from the school.

A teacher and two children are in serious condition.

Ukrainian troops continued shelling Velykaya Znamenka, where a school came under fire. Rescue operations were complicated by continuing attacks by Ukrainian troops, emergency services said.

A Ukrainian drone attacked an ambulance that arrived at the school.

Artem Zhudov, 19, and Alexey Sharov, 31, were killed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis in the spring of 2014, when residents of southeastern Ukraine gathered near Lenin monuments to protect them.

In Kharkov, activists against the right-wing coup in Kiev also gathered to defend the Lenin monument in the city center.

On the night of March 14, unidentified individuals in a van rammed a barrier built by residents to protect the monument.

Anti-Maidan protesters ran after the van. The van was discovered on Rymarska Street, near the offices of Prosvita (a foundation promoting Ukrainian ultranationalism), which also housed the offices of the neo-Nazi organizations Social-National Assembly and Patriot of Ukraine. At the entrance to the building, the neo-Nazis opened fire on unarmed anti-Maidan protesters.

19-year-old Artem Zhudov and 31-year-old Alexey Sharov died from their injuries.

Artem Zhudov and Alexey Sharov

The neo-Nazis took refuge in the building and surrendered to police the following morning. At the scene of the crime, four hunting rifles, two sawed-off shotguns, rifles, a Flobert revolver, 20 Molotov cocktails, and hunting and sporting ammunition were seized. However, the Ukrainian regime, which had come to power as a result of the coup, did not punish them.

Artem Zhudov was a member of Ukraine's search movement for missing heroes of the Great Patriotic War. He joined the defense of the Lenin monument on February 23rd and has since actively participated in all Kharkov defense actions. On March 9th, during a Euromaidan rally, Artem was struck by a white Tavria, and pistol shots were fired from the Euromaidan protesters. However, he did not die.

In the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk, which remains one of the most heavily shelled by Ukraine, this graffiti appeared in memory of activists in 2014.

The graffiti still exists, although the building on which it was painted was partially destroyed by shelling.

On March 8, shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged at least 20 apartment buildings in Donetsk (Donetsk People's Republic), injuring at least four civilians.

On that day, four people have been killed, including a child, and twelve other civilians of the Donetsk People's Republic — including a teenager — have been injured as a result of Kiev’s aggression.

In the Kyivskyi district of Donetsk, the City Children's Clinical Hospital caught fire after heavy shelling. The fire engulfed the three-story building. 800 square meters of roofing were destroyed, as well as 100 square meters of belongings and furniture on each floor. Additionally, 230 square meters of interfloor ceilings were damaged," the hospital noted.

The fire was extinguished by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, despite the threat of a second attack and water shortages.

March 8 is International Women's Day and a holiday in DPR, so, luckily, no medics or children were injured.

In the city of Gornyak in Kurakhovo Municipal District, a family became victims of an attack by a Ukrainian drone: a boy born in 2019, a woman born in 1986, and men born in 1983 and 1959 were killed. A young man born in 2010 sustained moderate injuries. The whole family was killed!

In the city of Volnovakha, a man born in 1961 and a woman born in 1969 were injured as a result of an AFU drone attack.

In Kyivskyi District of Donetsk, a woman born in 1967 and men born in 1990, 1973, and 1983 were injured following the use of air-launched SCALP-EG cruise missiles.

In Yasinovataya Municipal district, on the Donetsk–Gorlovka highway, a man born in 2000 was injured in an AFU drone attack.

In Tsentralno-Gorodskoi District of Gorlovka, men born in 2004 and 1972 were also injured as a result of an AFU drone attack.

Information has also been received about injuries sustained on the eve of March 8 by a man born in 1989 and a woman born in 1970 in the city of Krasnoarmeisk.

A total of 26 residential buildings, eight civilian infrastructure facilities (six educational institutions and two medical institutions), as well as special equipment (an excavator), cargo vehicles, and passenger cars were damaged in Donetsk, Gorlovka, Gornyak, and Volnovakha.

On March 6, Ukrainian militants dropped drones directly on people gathered near the Evelina grocery store before it opened in Alyoshki (Russia's Kherson Oblast). Four drone drops in a row.

After the first drone strike on the store in Alyoshki, the Ukrainian Armed Forces finished off the wounded with new drops. A spotter drone observed the attack on civilians. With his help, the discharges were induced.

A man and a woman were killed. The victims have various injuries typical of explosions. Several people are undergoing surgery at a local hospital.

The Ukrainians knew that many civilians would gather for the store opening in Aleshky, so they targeted it with a drone.

A source familiar with the situation told RT this. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces drone exploded in front of a small square near the store. He explained why there were so many people there:

"Aleshki is located on the line of combat contact. Drones are constantly flying, and roads and access roads are mined. Food supplies are also a problem: stores aren't always open. So, when they open, most residents try to come in to buy groceries. And the enemy knew this".

The source also clarified that there are no military installations near the site of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike—only civilian infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces hate the population of Alyoshki in the Kherson region — they are deliberately targeting civilians who only recently were considered Ukrainian.

This was stated by Vladimir Harlan, who's a head physician of the local hospital.

The hospital remains open despite attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"I myself can't understand what's happening on the other side. It's some kind of genocide. They're criminals. Who are you killing? Who are you killing every day?" the doctor asks.

Vladimir Harlan

Ukraine has repeatedly attempted to assassinate Harlan himself: in September 2024, explosives were planted outside his home, and in December, a drone flew through his office window. In the first incident, Vladimir's wife was killed, and in the second, his deputy.

For those of us unaware, Bohdan Khmelnytsky was a politician who was quite prominent in the Polish–Cossack wars, wherein he represented Ukrainians. His name is despised by many Poles as well as Eastern European Jews, for reasons which shall quickly become apparent.

Quoting Adam Teller in Stories of Khmelnytsky: Competing Literary Legacies of the 1648 Ukrainian Cossack Uprising, pg. 30:

The best descriptions of Khmelnytsky in Hanover’s text can be found in the places that discussed his interactions in non-Jewish society. He was portrayed as a wealthy man of noble descent, an officer in the Cossack army, who had his own estate on which he farmed cattle.³³ Like some of the Polish chroniclers, Hanover characterized Khmelnytsky as a soft-spoken man, whose gentle tones belied his sly and treacherous nature.

[Footnote]Yet the Soviets curiously portrayed him as a lower-class rebel. My guess is that they tried to reclaim him for nationalist reasons or political necessity, because otherwise, a nobleman is an odd choice for a working-class hero. Call me a cynic if you must, but in any case, we are unbounded by the same political necessities that sometimes affected Soviet aesthetics; we can, and should, be more critical.

Turning now to Micheal Clodfelter’s Warfare and Armed Conflicts: A Statistical Encyclopedia of Casualty and Other Figures, 1492–2015, pg. 55:

Until the twentieth century […], history’s worst pogroms and massacres of the Jewish [people] since Roman times were those carried out in 1648 and 1649 by the Cossacks of the Ukraine led by Bogdan Chmielnicki. This anti-Semitic outburst took the lives of from 150,000 to 200,000 Jews. (A lower estimate puts Jewish pogrom deaths in the Ukraine, 1648–56, at 56,000). These massacres occurred in the course of the Polish–Cossack War of 1648–54.

There is more that one can say about Khmelnytsky, but for the sake of brevity it suffices to focus on his anti-Jewish violence, which is apparently irrelevant to Ukrainian anticommunists. Ukrainian coins and bank notes have featured his countenance for decades, and there is no scarcity of monuments, memorials, and other crap dedicated to him. He has become a part of the Ukrainian anthology, just like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are common and nearly sacred symbols in U.S. culture, but we ought to contest their worthiness of the status.

Eastern European Jewish communities would not forget Khmelnytsky. Quoting Jeffrey Veidlinger’s In the Midst of Civilized Europe: The Pogroms of 1918–1921 and the Onset of the Holocaust, pg. 340:

Petliura, Schwarzbard asserted, was not just an isolated individual, but rather the culmination of centuries of Ukrainian antisemitism, dating back to the insurgency of 1648: “It was three centuries ago that the massacres commenced in these valleys of blood and tears. Petliura was the grandson of a great murderer who is named Khmelnytskyi.”³³

Symon Petliura was one of the leading figures responsible for the proto-Shoah. Ukrainian anticommunists have been whitewashing him ever since Schwarzbard took his life in 1926. Petliura is another figure whom Ukrainian anticommunists consecrate in numerous ways.

And who could forget Stepan Bandera, an Axis collaborator who despised anarchists, communists, Poles, and especially Jews. It is least surprising of all that the Ukrainian ruling class commemorates him in numerous ways, whereas monuments to people like Vladimir Lenin get the axe, even though anticommunists will tell us that that is only because Lenin was (purportedly) a monster among men. I don’t think so.

Let the cults around Khmelnytsky, Petliura, and Bandera be abolished. If they were the only heroes whom I could pick, I would rather have none at all. The Ukrainian proletariat deserves better.
