Russo-Ukrainian War: Leak Biopsy (bigserge.substack.com)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I have seen a few mentions of these recent Pentagon leaks about Ukraine's "spring counter-offensive" in the comments here so i gather that there are some comrades that have an interest for this sort of thing. From what i can tell this article does a good job summing up the most relevant big picture information that can be learned from these documents.

Warning: the author has thrown in a queerphobic "joke" for absolutely no reason which is very annoying and detracts from an otherwise professional piece.

  • Armed civilians without giving them a uniform. Breach of Geneva Conventions
  • Ukrainian special forces command said Russian artillerymen will no longer be taken prisoner and will "all be killed for being complicit in criminal orders". Killing surrendering soldiers is a war crime. Collective punishment is also one. Edit: they have since taken that statement back. I have not.
  • Did not activate air raid sirens to warn civilian populations of artillery and air strikes. People have already died because of this; Russia gave warnings as per protocol which Ukraine did not relay in time.
  • As per the discovery of biological labs near the border with Russia, there is a very serious possibility Zelensky is guilty of producing biological weapons. The labs have been confirmed by the US gov, but no proof yet that they were meant for biological warfare.
  • Forcing battles to happen in civilian zones, thus exposing them to danger and preventing their protection.
  • Possibility of using child soldiers, as the Ukrainian army is now training children to use AKs, during wartime.
  • Ukrainian forces were (accidentally) caught using Red Cross vans to transport soldiers and materiel. The symbol of the cross itself can only be used by the organisation and is protected under the Geneva Conventions; it can only be used by medical units who must then be treated like civilians.

Feel free to contribute. (the list above only reflects crimes Zelensky himself can be responsible for, to the best of our knowledge based on information that comes out of Ukraine. This list is also not legal advice, as only a trial will be able to determine which crimes have been committed and who is responsible for them).

The Ukrainian military carried out a drone strike on the town of Aleshki in Russia’s Kherson Region on Thursday, targeting a busy local market, the regional governor, Vladimir Saldo, has said. At least seven people have been killed in the attack and over 20 more wounded, he added in a post on Telegram.

According to Saldo, the attack occurred around 9:30 a.m. local time near the central market, where many people were present. He said the initial “massive strike” was followed by another aimed “to finish off the survivors.”

Saldo added that Ukrainian forces have previously also “systematically” targeted ambulances, making it difficult to evacuate the wounded from affected areas.

"Britain’s obsession with wresting Sevastopol from Moscow’s grasp dates back to the Crimean War of 1853-1856, but the leaked documents clearly show the city’s seizure is still considered a vital, and achievable, objective from London’s perspective."

[...]

"Project Alchemy declared that the effort “could be the tip of the spear to a larger offensive with an aim of retaking Crimea… something deemed impossible by many including [the] Kremlin, that may be their undoing.”

Previous reports by The Grayzone on Project Alchemy’s clandestine activities have revealed how much of the cell’s plotting was informed by deluded conceptions of perceived historic British military glories, such as the World War II-era Special Operations Executive, a forebearer of CIA/MI6-run Operation Gladio."

The British need professional psychological help. There is something seriously wrong with this country.

What is the positive outcome of defending an authoritarian regime like Putin’s? I don’t see how that advances socialist goals in any way. I am learning that Zelenskyy and Ukraine are not as good as Western media describes, but I do not see how Putin is better. I’m interested in being part of Lemmygrad.ml, but not if it defends authoritarian regimes especially if they are not working towards socialism/communism. I want to work towards socialist goals, but I do not want to be used as a tool in some authoritarian geopolitical mess. Russia also gives me the impression of being colonialist but I’m not sure if that’s accurate

An overview of the military and geopolitical situation in the Ukraine conflict as of the time of writing. Good summary of the failed Kursk incursion for those interested in the military side. Some speculation about how the conflict will proceed going forward and what the prospects are for a negotiated peace.

Disclaimer: the author is reactionary and their political views are not aligned with ours; however the military analysis in this piece is solid and the piece itself largely stays away from controversial political opinions. That is to say i think it is safe to read without requiring a content warning.

Bullets:

  • The war in Ukraine consumes vast quantities of arms and ammunition, supplied almost entirely by the US and the EU.
  • Battlefield demands in Ukraine far outstrip the combined production of the entire Western bloc.
  • Arsenals across the EU are empty, and the United States is far more reluctant today to supply the Ukraine war effort.
  • But Europe faces severe problems in their efforts to rearm, and to make good their public support and promises to Ukraine.
  • Despite having a far smaller economy than either the US or the EU, Russia easily produces more ammunition and war materiel than the NATO countries, combined.
  • Meanwhile, Russia's close ally China has the world's most productive industrial sector, and monopolies on the supply chains necessary to build armaments.
  • Last year, China cut off exports of antimony, a critical component of explosives, and antimony prices have more than quadrupled in less than a year.

It looks like the American version of The Grand Chessboard is not going as planned. Rather than Russia being defeated and dismembered, it’s winning, to the chagrin of the West. And they don’t know what to do.

The Real Objective of the Ukraine War

The whole objective of the Ukraine war has been to weaken Russia, sow division within Russian society, and eventually create regime change. The West’s whole history and its strength has been its ability to infiltrate and invade countries, to steal their resources and enslave their people, if not in actual slavery, then in debt slavery to Western banks.

The US/UK/NATO conglomerate thought that a combination of sanctioning Russia economically, the modern equivalent of siege warfare, where a city would be surrounded and starved into submission, as well as arming Ukraine to use as a battering ram, while not putting American, British or other NATO troops at risk, would be a successful strategy.

The idea was to attack China from it rear, and deprive China of Russian resources and support.

The Historic Suffering of Russia and China is Infinitely Greater Than Western Countries

Both Russia and China have suffered terribly from attacks by the West. Russia was invaded numerous times, and especially 1812 by a European force led by Napoleon’s France, in WWI. Again in 1918, following the Bolshevik Revolution by the US, UK, Japan, Czechoslovakia, France, Canada, Romania, and others. And again in 1941 by a coalition of Nazi Germany allies and vassal states.

In WWII alone, the USSR lost over 20 million people. And following WWII, the Collective West initiated the Cold War in 1946, and as the Cold War ended, NATO broke its promises not to expand, resulting in the current crisis.

During the 1990’s Russia lost several million people due to horrific economic conditions and social breakdown. The appearance of Vladimir Putin arrested that disaster and Russia is restored as a great power.

As for China, it suffered terribly following its loss in the Opium Wars, where opium was forced on the Chinese population following successful British attacks. In the 19th Century, China lost between 20 and 100 million people in the Taiping Rebellion. It was semi colonized by the USA, Japan, Germany, France.

In the 20th Century, Japan attacked China, resulting in another loss in excess of 20 million people.

So Russia and China have had a long history of catastrophic invasions by the West or imperial Japan. In the 1960s-1970s, Russia and China had a falling out of their cooperation as Socialist countries. Russia’s failure with fall of the Soviet Union was a warning to China not to befall Russia’s fate. And since 2000, Russia has been able to recover to a significant degree. But both countries have learned that they must support each other, or be driven apart and destroyed by the West, yet again.

Trump, the Peacemaker….Are You Kidding?

Now, Trump is making serious peace overtures to Russia. He even admits many truths about the plight of Russia historically. At the same time, China has been kept in the crosshairs for years. And now, the latest news:

The US State Department has dropped the language from its website regarding the “One China” policy that the island of Taiwan, whose legal name is The Republic of China, is a province, a part of China. This is a gross violation of the policy first put in place by President Nixon.

Basically, the United States has ‘thrown down the gauntlet’—in other words, declared war on China by breaking its word about Taiwan.

So what does this have to do with Ukraine? The US spends all together, its military, its spy agencies, the Energy Department, which is responsible for development of both nuclear energy AND nuclear weapons, well over a trillion dollars per year. It’s overextended with hundreds of military bases in about 100 countries.

And it’s been shoveling billions down the Ukraine rat hole. When the Trumpian real goal is to take down China, as suicidal and self defeating as that is.

Does Trump Really Love the Russian People?

And that is why Trump is making nice with Russia. Turns out that even the Corn Flake General Kellogg admits the plan to break Russia away from its alliances with China, Iran, North Korea. It worked with Henry Kissinger in the 1970’s with disastrous results for Russia, as well as disastrous results for countries like Iraq, Libya, Syria, Cuba which the Soviet Union supported until it fell apart.

However, it appears that the BRICS association of non Western nations understands how the West works. And the ‘Global Majority’ is getting strong enough to withstand Western imperialism.

Trump’s ending the USAID is due to the fact that it lost its efficacy. So the US will work out more surreptitious means of meddling in countries. And it wants to end the war in Ukraine to go after China.

My totally unprofessional prediction: Russia and China understand all this. So expect that Russia will ‘gladly engage’ in discussions with the US, the purpose being to string the US along, while Russia takes more and more of Ukraine, while bleeding the US/NATO. This will also tie the US up so that it doesn’t free up its resources to take on China.

Conclusion: Who Is Playing Whom?

Trump thinks he is playing Russia, but it’s really Putin’s Russia which is playing the doddering, sclerotic US Empire. Eventually the US economic system will collapse due to unpayable uncontrollable debt and its deep internal contradictions and conflicts. When that happens and the Oligarchs fall, we little people will suffer greatly, but Dynastic Change will end the US Empire, which was founded with the US Constitution, written of, by and for the superrich. At that point, the real American people’s revolution will have a chance to be realized, finally after 300 years.

Newly-leaked documents reveal a crew of military academics pitching the US National Security Council a series of extreme strategies for Ukraine, from IED’s inspired by Iraqi insurgents to sabotaging Russia’s infrastructure to propaganda “from ISIS’ playbook.”

Conceived under the auspices of the UK’s University of St. Andrews, the plans were outsourced through third parties to ensure “plausible deniability.”

Explosive leaked documents reviewed by The Grayzone show how a shady transatlantic collective of academics and military-intelligence operatives conceived schemes which would lead to the US “helping Ukraine resist,” to “prolong” the proxy war “by virtually any means short of American and NATO forces deploying to Ukraine or attacking Russia.”

The operatives assembled their war plans immediately in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and delivered them directly to the highest-ranking relevant US National Security Council official in the Biden administration.

Proposed operations ranged from covert military options to jihadist-style psychological operations against Russian civilians, with the authors insisting, “we need to take a page from ISIS’ playbook.”

ISIS was not the only militant outfit upheld as a model for Ukraine’s military. The intelligence cabal also proposed modernizing IEDs, like those staged by Iraqi insurgents against occupying US troops, for a potential stay-behind guerrilla army in Russia, which would attack rail lines, power plants and other civilian targets.

Many of the cabal’s recommendations were subsequently enacted by the Biden administration, dangerously escalating the conflict and repeatedly crossing Russia’s clearly-stated red lines.
