On the morning of April 7, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled a school in the village of Velykaya Znamyanka in the Zaporozhye Region.
There were children in the school when the attack took place.
Ten, with seven children being among them, are wounded, the region’s governor, Yevgeny Balitsky said.
As a result of the attack, the deputy head of the Kamenka-Dneprovsky municipal district, Alexander Reznichenko, was killed while evacuating children from the school.
A teacher and two children are in serious condition.
Ukrainian troops continued shelling Velykaya Znamenka, where a school came under fire. Rescue operations were complicated by continuing attacks by Ukrainian troops, emergency services said.
A Ukrainian drone attacked an ambulance that arrived at the school.
An elderly civilian was killed in a Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on a house in the same village of Velykaya Znamenka in the Zaporozhye region, becoming the second victim.
