It's based on a scene from the show The Owl House (specifically S03E01 Thanks to Them). Definitely won't make sense if you don't know the characters

Great show, you should watch it! Its on Disney+, but if you don't have that, you can also find it for free at a certain "owl club" website ;) (and if you're morally concerned, dont be--even Dana Terrace, the creator of the show herself priated her own show from there)

Good morning class, I am your substitute LolaCat for the day. (Actually, I noticed MM's tumblr was bridged with Bridgy Fed (follow in Masto/etc client to see it properly), but it only includes the first image of the post. I noticed this one go by without a corresponding Lemmy post, so here I am)

With Glitch's new show Knights of Guinevere (by Dana Terrace, John Bailey Owen, and Zach Marcus of The Owl House) recently announced and now The Gaslight District (by Nick Szopko) with its trailer dropping today, I want to have a space on Lemmy to talk about these shows.

But, given how quiet this community and [email protected] are, I don't think it makes sense to make dedicated communities for each. But, this is [email protected], and it doesn't technically fit here, either. (Sunset Paradise and Meta Runner are also totally unrepresented in Lemmy)

Since it's not possible to change the handle of a Lemmy community, this would mean a new community. I'm looking at the following options and would like your opinions:

1: Create a new community for general Glitch content and deprecate this one. Create !GlitchProd and close !digital_circus. This community will be closed (set to read-only) and all 6 shows (Sunset, Meta, Drones, Circus, Gaslight, and Guinevere) will be welcome there.

2: Create a new community for general Glitch content, but leave this one open. TADC content will be welcome in both communities and will have to be double-posted for maximum reach.

3: Allow all Glitch content here. Don't create a new community, just open the doors of [email protected]. I can change the display name, but not the handle, so this will always be !digital_circus.

4: No change, leave this community to TADC and nothing for new shows. Of course, nothing stopping anyone else from making a general Glitch community and causing #2 again

Please sound off on your thoughts in the comments. I'll probably decide late Friday or on Saturday to be fresh on the GD hype.

#Hunter from #OwlHouse ! When watching the show, Hunter was my favourite character. I realised I had only previously drawn #Amity, though. I'll repost that in the same post, in case it hasn't been seen. I drew Amity more in the style of Cardcaptor Sakura :3

Knights of Guinevere is an indie animated, sci-fi psychological thriller and our FIRST 2D animated show. Pilot episode set to come out late this year (hopefully).

Created by Dana Terrace, John Bailey Owen, and Zach Marcus.

This was released back in January, but I realized it was never shared here.

Dana Terrace, John Bailey Owen, and Zach Marcus, three writers for The Owl House (you might've heard of it?) are working on a new show with Glitch Productions (also responsible for shows like Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus and the upcoming Gaslight District)

I can't wait to see that dark horror that Owl House's Boschian inspirations could only allude to

BIG NEWS GUYS!!! - From October 4th, The Amazing Digital Circus is also coming to Netflix with Episodes 1-3 available to stream both there AND on YouTube!

And to be clear; We're still independently funding everything, we still get full control of the show, and episodes will continue to ALWAYS come out on YouTube first.

Honestly feel that this is a HUGE step for indie animation and we couldn't have done it without you all ❤️

SEE YOU WHEN EPISODE 3 RELEASES 👀

With Murder Drones having officially reached its finale, it's time now for Glitch to start teasing the next Digital Circus episode again!

The post thumbnail image was posted to their socials a couple days ago (Sept 17) with no additional comment. Another image was posted today (Sept 19) with the caption:

You make your way up the steps of a mysterious mansion...

Do you enter?

Pomni, seen from behind, stands in front of the closed doors of what appears to be a spooky mansion. She's shining a flashlight on the wooden doors, which are about twice her height and slightly weathered, and surrounding brick walls as a window above the doors shines light back on to her. The rest of the mansion visible to the sides is cloaked in darkness, and some light fog lingers at the edges of the floor.

Who's ready for a Halloween episode!

Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls), Dana Terrace (The Owl House), and Matt Braly (Amphibia) are teaming up with Richmond Parakhen (Studio Bad Egg) for what I assume is just a merch drop, since that's what Studio Bad Egg is. But it'll be nice to get some more official merch from the creators including probably some crossover stuff

On what should have been a normal September day at Studio Bad Egg HQ, chaos erupts. A glowing portal, suspiciously triangular, bursts into the studio - bringing together three separate worlds. The Pines family come face to face with Eda the Owl Lady’s entourage and The Calamity Trio.

Its all the work of Bill Cipher - emboldened as he is by a New York Times bestseller and the Cipher Cult Collection. There’s only one answer. It’s time for every one of our animated heroes to come together - and see off that dapperly-dressed evil once and for all.

Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House merge together in the BYEEE collection, Studio Bad Egg’s big send-off, developed in collaboration with the pop-culture-defining trio of Dana Terrace, Matt Braly, and Alex Hirsch. In this explosive merging of worlds, we say goodbye to the family of shows that have inspired us from day one. Get your hands on some exclusive, never-before-seen cult merchandise, starring some of the most iconic characters in animation, developed in partnership with their creators, with incredible concepts and ideas by Richmond Parakhen the owner of Studio Bad Egg, with designs and illustrations by the remarkably talented Kyri45!

This Kickstarter is set to launch October 5th at 1pm PST time, make sure to click that notify button so you dont miss out!

Well @zuck (and @mosseri) are from Threads and, like @Mastodon, it makes sense a lot of people would first choose to follow the top leaders. I imagine the majority of those are actually legitimate users, though the Threads bubble also very quickly popped, so who knows how many are still active

I wonder if this was inspired by a recent xkcd?

At text: People may complain about readability, but even with jpeg compression, extracting the data points is usually computationally feasible if there aren't too many of them.

There's always a relevant xkcd:

(actually quite a few in this case...)

We can do this the easy way, of the hard way: Either you ask nicely and I give you money, or you try to mug me, get beaten up, and then I give you money anyway.

So what'll it be?

There's a new protocol for smart home devices called Matter, that let's them work across ecosystems (so for example smart lights set up with Google Home could be controlled through Apple HomeKit via Matter). Thread is part of how Matter devices communicate with each other (instead of e.g. WiFi or Bluetooth). The new iPhones can directly use Thread instead of needing another devices to act as a bridge to "translate" the commands

A fairly niche addition, but definitely not useless. And a big plus for those into smart home stuff

Worth noting, for those that aren't going to bother reading the first line of the article, this is ABC the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, not ABC the American Broadcasting Company
