My concern is not the intelligence.

It’s good enough today to pattern match quite well and what we see as intelligence doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s what it need to replace most of us.

I tried copy pasting an issue today on copilot and it gave a solution and tests to me that worked.

I did very small adjustments to the code and I have to say the request wasn’t that well written and it was a slightly difficult thing to solve and it did “one shot” it. I just hate this so much. These newer models are definitely not fully replacing us but it did make me fix an issue much quicker than it takes me to run the unit tests.

I really hope that the Jevons paradox applies to this and well all have plenty of jobs after this solidifies and we find out their real limits. I just have daily dread about ai I hate that we’re going to increase even more the divide between the super rich and the rest, hopefully I’m being too negative or when governments lose all their tax revenue and people are about to revolt they’ll do something

So. I’m a developer and I really dislike ai, am having pretty bad anxiety about the future because I’m also a bit older and I think pivoting to another career would be unlikely.

I started using agentic ai because there has been a massive push at work, with the usual talk saying that workers who use ai will replace workers who don’t

While I dread it and would love it to completely go away, I’ve been very surprised with the newer models like opus 4.6. The older gpt models were a bit “dumb” but opus feels different. Which makes me terrified of the future.

I really hope they hit a wall soon and don’t get any better than that

Can’t wait to have hbo shows to be cancelled less than a month after release even though they got decent audience (but not enough for the algorithm to consider it good) I’m talking about Kaos on Netflix

I remember reading somewhere that while the hole is closing, due to the massive increase of rocket launches it’s actually thinning so we may not be as protected from the sun as we think we are.

I can get ps5 and switch games from my local library. Wait time can get silly like a year but still free

Iirc it’s the top 10%.

I still wonder, how would the ultra rich or even the top 10% stay rich if the middle and lower classes are all unemployed. Won’t it “trickle up” to the richer people.

Probably most of Amazon revenue comes from the bottom 90%. I mean. There’s only so much a single individual needs to buy. Same goes for subscriptions, cars, clothes. Etc.

Maybe they’re buying luxury products now and the price makes it represent so much of the overall economy. But won’t they also get affected when their company loses their “bottom” customers. Less sales will affect the stock market, which will likely reduce their purchase power as well.

And I really think it will affect the big players. More unemployed people will cause less people to sign up for Amazon prime. Less people subscribing to Netflix will hurt Netflix which in place will require less resources and that affect Amazon at the end of the day when they cut down on aws expenses.

This is a simple and likely naive idea from me but I really think that everything is still very connected. Even the ai replacing stuff. Most of their money right now comes from selling it to businesses. Not all businesses cater for the top 10%. So that means more business going broke and less ai being sold as well.

Can I use bazzite as my main distro for regular use and coding besides just gaming or it’s more focused on gaming alone and I should dual boot another distro for my non gaming needs?

There’s an excellent video that explains all the ramifications of populations decline and it’s not only an economical nightmare but also a cultural obliteration as well over time. They use South Korea as an example but mention that even the US is heading this way but has another decade or so before it gets really bad.

Wild theory. But isn’t it possible he’s making the USA more vulnerable to terror/other country attacks so he can start a war and stay as president for as long as the war goes on.

I don’t recall off the top of my head but I vaguely remember some other weakening of their defence like reducing air traffic control employees as well for instance

I don’t speak French and the soundtrack of the game Clair obscur expedition 33 is all in French and I can’t stop listening to it. So I have no idea about the lyrics but it sounds so pleasant to the ears.

Finally. The “final battle” is going for soooooo long that I gave up reading it. Will read the last 3 chapters when it ends and I reckon I won’t lose much of the story anyway.
