According to the quote they have taken precautions, the peasantry is not allowed on the island. And to make sure they dont try, they have armed guards and security systems in place.
Werbung? 😳
Some Clients such as Voyager have it

I'm a long time daily user as well, and my suspicion would be the ever increasing potency. I have a quite high tolerance, yet a high THC strain (iirc advertised were 26-27%) i bought some months ago seriously fucked me up.
Loss of motor control, balance, intense nausea and sweating, I had to literally sit on the toilet and lean my head and upper body against the wall for 45 minutes, because that was somehow the only bearable position with the option to puke if needed. Topped off with a racing mind going to unhappy places.
I then sort of cut the stuff with "normal" ~20% weed to tone it down and make it tolerable. I can definitely see these potent strains having unexpected and perhaps so far undocumented effects on the body. A little like beer versus liquor.
Even beyond that, the "complex" language they claim is confusing is the whole point of Wikipedia. Neutral, precise language that describes matters accurately for laymen. There are links to every unusual or complex related subject and even individual words in all the articles.
I find it disturbing that a major share of the userbase is supposedly unable to process the information provided in this format, and needs it dumbed down even further. Wikipedia is already the summarized and simplified version of many topics.
Only non germans could possibly consider VdL in any position of power a good thing.
The "I'm literally the guy in the pic" meme format would work great as well for this
...yes? Was that in question?

Not paying your enforcers well enough to make sure the are loyal would probably be the dumbest mistake anyone with wealth and/or power can make.
Not saying it cant be done of course, but it seems a bit more involved than climbing over a fence after giving the guard some cigarrettes.
