I mean Tandy Leather was a thing and they expanded into Tandy Corporation for Tandy Computers. So there is precedents but yeah this screams bubble and pets.com level of stupid.

Yeah but its at trace levels now

I just looked it up and I stand corrected thank you. Some old myths are hard to get rid off.

So not enough to turn blood red?

[-] lordnikon@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Since there is no oxygen on mars shouldn't blood be blue though. Maybe Neptune would be a better planet for mars.

Edit* wasn't thinking and fell for an old myth. See comment below.

My question is always how the hell are you going to cool them. Do you know hard it is to move heat in a vacuum?

The best one I've ever heard is they like the Microsoft wallpapers. Yes i told them you can use them on linux too. But they argued with me that they wouldn't be compatible.

For those don't know Neil Breen. He is known for using VHS camcorder and a CT Scanner made out of paper in his movies.

Because they are incentivizing us to buy new phones. It's not a technical reason it's a capitalism reason.

Bonus points: if that place/activity is friendly for disabled people with limited mobility.

Like there be one for Covid then another one for ebola. Generic ribbons for each mass shooting.

I know it's dark but they need to be recognized. In the Army we would joke our ribbons were our PTSD listed out our chest. Figured it's the same for them.

Like they construct the world for each day? Like you see them putting up mailboxes and painting the roads.

If someone is dead they should stay dead this is how art dies. It's easier to keep recycling the same time shit over and over. I want to see what the new generation brings to the table.

When having one of my bad days I think of that quote. It's was a random statement in a comicbook of all things. If you check my post history I would be considered a doomer about the climate only but I'm trying to not be.

I was just thinking about the word social media as a term answer how it relates to regular media.

Like what is regular media? it's someone that is paid to entertain you for money or influence you for people that pay them for power.

Now the word social media if it relates to old media what would it be at face value. It's a person that is paid to make you feel like you have a social connection with them for money influence you for people that pay them that want power.

Like what was social connections on the internet before the rise of social media.

It was forums and if we look at that word what is it as face value from the word itself its meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Ideas to be exchanged everyone was equal there was no media personalities no popularity contests. No followers just a group of people sharing ideas around a common interest.

How off base am I? did I miss anything in my reasoning here?

Like the question above am I just an old man that's not keeping up with the times or is terminator still a great terminal to use in 2025?

My favorite was a time my best friend and I were on the second phone line talking and took on 15 to 2 in quake 2 CTF and won.

i kind of hate this because the keys are not incorporeal. So while the ghost can go through the door with ease the keys can't even if the ghost could interact with the keys in the first place. 😜

what kills me is we Solved Cheating in the 90s and early 00s. It's called dedicated servers. People would buy a game someone would setup a server and if you were a dick or cheat you would get kicked and each sever was like a community just like it is here.

But the companies want control they want to be able to shut download the game on their timetable and get you to buy the next game. A tool or system is never going to fix this people and breaking communities into manageable chunks can.

Hell back in the day servers were hacked on purpose to create new types of games. Anyone remember CS Surfing and Sniper only maps in TFC.

the point is people can hack away break the game beyond recognition but they can do that off in their own space.

Now I know that breaks global leader boards and other ego driven things but I'm just talking about having fun with games.

alternative headline "steam users have a ton of games they got from a humble bundle for super cheap and we didn't take that into account and used the msrp value of each game for this shocking headline."

Also some games don't count time on older games. i know I have games like half life 2 episode 1 that i have beaten that show I never played them since I played them before they started tracking time.
