Trump is not getting what he deserves. He's old and feeble. He got away with it.

But his cronies should be made to pay.

Most-importantly, any military officers who followed illegal orders should be court-martialed and jailed to neuter future despots by removing future military backing.

Wine makes Windows applications work in Linux. Wine solved a lot of issues with translation, but most Windows games use DirectX for their graphics, which is proprietary to Windows.

DXVK translates DirectX to Vulcan (Open Source graphics API used in Linux), allowing GPUs on Linux to run DirectX games.

A good writer could do cool stuff with that. It doesn't even have to be laziness, but the lack of necessity for innovation.

A fun example is Project Hail Mary. The alien species in it is highly intelligent and has invented space travel, but has no computer technology. It's not that they lack the capacity and ingenuity required to develop computers, but because the structure of their brains that developed for extremely advanced audio processing in an environment without light made them extremely good at mathematics. They never had a need to invent calculators, so they never progressed down the technological path that would eventually lead to computers.

Photoshop and Lightroom are what keep me with Adobe. The Open Source stuff simply doesn't cut it for my needs.

I actually prefer Inkscape over Illustrator. I also still have a lingering fondness for Corel Draw, but I think that's mostly because I started using it back in 89 when it released.

I also sometimes miss the simple days of learning to use a mouse with Dr Halo.

How else are we supposed to pay oil companies and Monsanto massive subsidies to encourage them to keep participating in their wildly profitable businesses?

Do you know if it was actually removed?

Yeah. Because Google would never keep the images anyway.

They pay their mistresses to get abortions.

No - they just pretend taxes are lower to justify not using the tax money responsibly to provide social services.

Between federal income tax, social security, and medicaid my taxes come out to about 40% off the top. Then I have to pay state sales tax, local taxes, and in many states people also have to pay state sales tax.

Non-profit food. Huge difference.

And if the city owns the land, there will also be significant cost savings long-term in rent and property tax.
