Every moment the current administration wastes is immensely valuable to the American people. It’s when they are working that it’s bad for us
*dull and dim, whenever they have to be over dumb ol’ stupid Texas
If everyone from Reddit just went over to lemmy.world and sh.it.just.works instead of making accounts all over the fediverse and maybe even hosting their own instance, then we’d just have the same problems that we did with Reddit, just at a different domain.
The fediverse will grow in due time. But thinking of it in terms of supplanting Reddit, or replacing twitter isn’t a good mindset. Decentralized social media and activitypub are tools to build better experiences, not replace the enshittified entrenched ones.
TikTok being banned is good. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter should be banned as well. Closed, source, manipulative and harmful algorithms should be banned and these apps all use dark patterns in their design.
The fediverse and open social networks where the algorithms are open source and well understood and the user is allowed to choose their own algorithms is the only safe way to use social media.
Is Elon trying to say he deleted his own brain because his behavior would prove that theory
Great thing about the fediverse is that you have options when admin/moderation actions occur that you don’t agree with. If Reddit were to remove /r/piracy then we’d have no recourse
Why would anyone give money to a business who has never ran in the black after 20 years? Just set your money on fire instead
Well we have 6 weeks to prepare for the next mass exodus lads and lassies
That’s the vibe I always got from Reddit. But yeah, the vibe I get from Lemmy is that there are two demographics.
19-45 white male tech enthusiast and 19-45 white trans female tech enthusiast.
-
Go to the bathroom between passing periods and let one out.
-
Improve your diet, don’t drink carbonated drinks.
-
I can’t believe I’m having this interaction on Lemmy
Come on Tim Apple. Do it. You know it’s the right thing to do
Actually, with Google recently losing in court where Apple had previously won because Google was exempting some developers from its App Store rules; Apple might be actually inclined to actually enforce its rules in X’s case lest they suffer the same fate

I’ll be here repping my Jayhawks. I didn’t participate in the community poll last season, just couldn’t watch enough games to be informed. I’ll probably bow out of the poll again this season but I’ll be here to contribute to the game day threads
