- I am experiencing an issue with the client I'm using.

Are you using a client other than the website itself? Is the issue specific to that client? If so, please contact the developer of the app or web client you are using.

Please email us at info@lemmy.world or create a post in this community.

- Did we defederate, or did someone else defederate from us?

Visit https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/lemmy.world for information about defederation of any instance.

Alternatively check https://defed.xyz/ and enter "lemmy.world" to view a complete list of defederations.

- I cannot access my account.

Accounts are being created on lemmy.world, downvoting en mass, and then deleting themselves. (See this example, https://lemvotes.org/user/iuyfihefoqerhif@lemmy.world - 99 downvotes in 7 minutes.)

Accounts are also being created, then flooding communities with posts, then also deleting themselves. A few examples below:

https://lemmy.world/u/delasnuz
https://lemmy.world/u/lord_alkriey
https://lemmy.world/u/ivan_kor
https://lemmy.world/u/aberidiena

https://lemmy.world/u/landsteri
https://lemmy.world/u/iris_n_eye

Are the admins aware of this behavior? If so, is anything being done to remediate this issue?

Since I'm the only one posting and mods are not active, I thought modding the low profile community, add couple info etc. to make it more accessible.

I'm watching the Babylon Bee "sketch" called "Cooking with Communism", and I'm pretty sure the Babylon Bee were misinformed about communism because I think it's NOT always about famines and such.

I mean the Babylon Bee didn't know about any libertarian forms of communism such as Left communism, De Leonism, council communism, syndicalism, Libertarian Marxism and anarcho-communism. I think the only reason why communism is being treated as a scary thing is because of Stalin.

I also think the reason for those famines in the USSR is Stalin bureaucratized much of the Communist Party. Maybe I'm just throwing words together, but that's how I think is the reason.

There's NO punchline in that "sketch", and if there is, it would've been "100 million billion bajillion dead". Is there a Lemmy community for cheesy and bad videos like that?

This is photon version 2.0.0 (outdated) and has the youtube embed videos broken with an "Error 153" https://photon.lemmy.world/post/lemmy.world/42101659

The newest version work perfectly https://phtn.app/post/lemmy.world/42101659

Have been experiencing an odd sort of error for a while now, stubborn me using a lazy workaround and F5ing the page instead of seeking a more concrete solution, but it's limiting my access to content in the linear sort of way that I had before. I'd appreciate any insight as to the source of this error.

The main page (https://lemmy.world/) initially loads correctly as per user selected attributes (Post/Comments, Show Hidden/Hide Hidden, etc.) as before, but once the bottom of the feed is reached and [Next] is selected, nothing happens.

The page simply cycles, appearing to try and load the following one while displaying greyed-out text field where post titles, link source, poster username, community are normally displayed on a successful load. After a minute or two, the page loading completes - minus the content. It's simply blank with only the static headers available (Rainbow Mouse symbol/Lemmy.World, Communities, Create Post, etc.)

Looking to transfer ownership of a community on lemmy.world between 2 accounts, both on lemmy.world. I see the option to appoint a mod, but not the option to transfer ownership. How can I go about this?

Thank you.

I was notified at my ani.social account of a report in !sanfrancisco@lemmy.world

As explained in the message, I cannot view reports in my ani.social account, and have to have a native alt on lemmy.world

I created an alt !zabadoh@lemmy.world promoted it as a moderator…

But http://lemmy.world/reports still results in an error page.

Please advise…

I'm wanting to add another account of mine on another instance as moderator in communities I mod here. I don't want to have to go and drop comments on old threads or anything to be able to do it. I see there's an API for it

https://lemmy.readme.io/reference/post_community-mod

but I can't see how to get an API key. I've seen some indicator that Lemmy has a developer dashboard where I can find my API key, but I don't see how to access the dashboard.

Any guidance?

Update Blorp (github.com)

https://blorp.lemmy.world/ runs on an outdated version of Blorp. An update to the most recent release would be great.

There is one user in particular that I have no problem with otherwise, but they are just spamming a lot of the communities that I follow, and they remind me of some mid tier Reddit material that you either typically scroll over, or stop to see once, and then you regret your choice.

I have no problem with this account commenting (which they do), so I don't want to block them entirely; I just wouldn't like to see their posts.

I might be blind but I couldn't find an option for that. I'm mainly talking about the desktop environment of lemmy.world.

Both mods are also moderators of announcements@discuss.online; they are admins, this is their instance, and they are engaging in vote tampering to boost their instance and its communities over the rest of the fediverse.

Request to mod c/falcons (peachpie.theatl.social)

I would like to take over the !falcons@lemmy.world community. I'm a huge Atlanta Falcons fan, and I would love to mod that community and try to kickstart it into some activity. I see that there is only one mod listed, and he has not been active on Lemmy in 2 years.

What do I need to do?

All systems seem operational per status and dash, but I have been unable to access page 2 and beyond on All sorted by New. I get flashing placeholders on the website, I get the error 'timeout' on my Android app (Boost).

What I've tried:

  • sorting New on All with an account from another instance (no timeout there)
  • sorting by something different than All (no issues)
  • logging out and back in again (timeout again)
  • trying a guest account (timeout again)
  • completely reset the app

Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

I just threw in my support with a small recurring donation. I've been here for 2 years and realized I should support the alternate future I want to see grow. I've been slowly working on taking ownership of my data back from the behemoth corporations one service at a time. Supporting Lemmy and the Fediverse is in alignment with those values.

If you are like me and usually here just lurking then consider making a post, a donation, or both!

Oh, and Happy New FediYear!!
