It's really surprising to me that the community note feature still exists on Twitter, fascists get owned by it so often by constantly posting lies, the CEO included.

Not at all, if anything it's the least frustrating one. Every defeat gives you something to learn from, whether it was a huge blunder you made or just your general strategy and missed opportunities. It was all a direct result of your playing against your opponents playing, it's probably the most balanced game ever made which makes sense since it's been played for literally centuries.

Other games like League of Legends, or TCGs like Magic or Riftbound for example, are unbelievably more frustrating. In online MOBAs you can just get matched with a team diff you can do absolutely nothing about and just have to wait until defeat losing your time in the process. And in said TCGs skill does play a role but it also has a lot to do with being lucky with your draws, having enough cards in your deck which cost money, or having spent enough time before the game to learn about all the possible cards an opponent could have or all the good combos you can make with your own cards, turning the game from a match of skill to a match of skill, luck, time and money all together.

I didn't find the option, how do you create them from the UI?

[-] iByteABit@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 days ago

I’d rather find any info on whatever challenge I’m trying to solve, even if it’s wrong, than no info whatsoever.

Unsure if this is irony, but if it isn't why wouldn't you just ask AI directly instead of polluting StackOverflow with AI answers?

Worth pointing out here that this is the mentality of the oh so authoritarian and scary communist devs of Lemmy, while the "anti-authoritarian" one is making sure to insert as much as possible of his personal bias hardcoded into the project and then lash out at random people for calling him out on it.

Sorry to continue the infighting a bit but the contradiction here is just glaring. I appreciate your stance and the Fediverse would never be what it is without people like you

It's horrifying that this happens and it's just Monday, no breaking news headlines, no public outcries, just another day in Gaza

[-] iByteABit@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

yeah I do the same lol

That's the easiest and most rewarding way to contribute without making it a full hobby by going to places specifically to map them, it feels great when I lookup the same thing after some time and it just works now

I feel like it helps with digestion after eating heavily, but I can't even picture someone literally drinking them for hydration

Open Street Maps based apps to be extremely lacking

This should be more of a shared responsibility, it's not an app's fault but the simple fact that OSM lacks a lot of information in many areas. That's why it's so important to contribute to OSM even a little bit, just mapping your own street block and nothing else is already a huge improvement.

Someone could argue that action should be taken against an instance admin like Rimu creating public lists of undesirables and calling for bans against them for no reason other than posting things he didn't agree with, but then the Piefed people would go up in flames saying ooh .ml is so authoritarian etc. etc.

Doesn't even have a proper 404 view, but yeah "Lemmy's development is too slow"

acts in an extremely hypocritical and provocative way that naturally raises lots of questions from many people

noo why are they're coordinating attacks against me they need to be banned from everywhere 😭

service-lookup lets you automatically port forward all the required Kubernetes pods that you need for local testing and updating your URIs in property YAML files recursively.

It is now also configurable, lets you automatically revert the files after cleanup, and caches namespaces for performance improvement.

My current phone is starting to annoy me after 7 years of usage (Xiaomi Note 8 Pro) and I'm thinking of finally getting a new one. With that in mind, I'm considering setting up a De-Googled OS as well, but there are a few things that I cannot compromise on:

  • Google Maps (I need the live traffic data when in a hurry, otherwise CoMaps is very nice)
  • Banking Apps (I've checked them in the GrapheneOS list and they do seem to work)
  • Instagram (it sucks I know, but I like not being a hermit)
  • Company Portal & Teams (absolute garbage, but I need it for work)

If any one of these aren't guaranteed to work, then it's not an option for me right now.

If they do work, which De-Googled OS should I go for? GrapheneOS does seem like the most private one and maybe the most likely to remain worked on and supported for a long time, but it means that I'm going to have to buy a Pixel, probably a refurbished one.

Lastly, if I install another OS and regret it, is it possible to install the stock OS again?

Edit: Also, what happens after Google's "Unverified App" decision has passed, will this affect these alternative OS?

Here is the message where he found out what happened:

I didn't receive any information about it but when creating a support ticket I was told my account has been flagged and I had to do some extra verification. I've created a support ticket now and will keep you posted. I'll believe it's nothing major though, I use 2FA everywhere, the last commit on all repos is what I expect, and all sessions and usages look fine

Absolutely fuck Github and Microslop, they can just vanish your projects without notice whenever they want with barely any justification for it, and then take their sweet time to fix it too.

What are some significant differences to expect when switching to an alternative, and can that affect gaming compatibility and performance?
