Hi, Feddit admin here. I would like to apologize for B-TR3E's behavior and have given them a temporary instance ban for their misbehavior not only here but on other comms as well.
Their misbehavior was brought to my attention and it was enough to take action since we expect our users to behave regardless of which instance they are on (at least when it comes to common courtesy).
I told them that it is not good to wish death on Israel or Palestine. Just because shitty people are in power, doesn't mean the populace has to suffer because of it. It doesn't matter which side.
All because we don't let them do as they like. Feddit is welcome to everybody who sticks to the rules. And the rules make it automatically difficult for people who follow hateful ideologies. I try my best to be fair to our community. Meanwhile certain dbzer0 users want us to ban people for simply believing Israel should exist, even if they are opposed to Netanyahu's regime and want settlers out of the West Bank.

I assume it has something to do with the discussion in the other thread on YPTB. Still doesn't make sense to only ban me from one community I haven't interacted with in a while.
Edit: It turns out it is an instance wide ban on lemmy.ml. Some people have told me already that I should see it as a badge of honor. Honestly, I can just shrug. I don't visit lemmy.ml anyways.

It's not that simple though. Run an instance that is dedicated to German speakers and not a specific political standpoint. The laws we have to obey are hatespeech laws. The laws don't ban antizionism, they however ban glorification of murdering innocents of a certain ethnicity. Doesn't matter which ethnicity. Some people are just sore they can't voice antizionist critiques without losing themselves in a violent and hateful dream.

Basically, there was a discussion about how instances have rules and Feddit also needs to abide by local (Austrian) law to not get in legal trouble.
And I get called a Zionazi for saying that you cant just up and call for the massacre of civilians, regardless of which side you are on.
It's also ironic for Dessalines to mock me for sticking to rules and laws to protect our instance.
