Yeah after we slaughtered them to near extinction, it sounds like they are making a good comeback. (Fur hats and anal gland perfume have different yearning these days)

Beavers built a dam in Alberta (850 meters) that is twice the length of the Hoover Dam. It isn't the technical marvel as the Hoover Dam, but one would have to be lying to say it's not impressive.

Extra info: we know it has existed since at least 1975, as it's visible in arial photographs. (Many from space).

So 50+ years for rodents maintaining a project seems pretty neat.

Someone gave me one as a gift when I lived on the Florida coast and I had to throw it away because it wicks up all the humidity and then leaks it onto whatever surface you have it on. Shit electronics sitting in puddles didn't seem like a good idea.

So is this a post from January or what

Her parents were the mad king and his sister wife Rhaella. Who bore 8 kids, 3 made it to "adults". The first being Rhaegar. The biological father of Jon Snow. Meaning the two main characters who were aunt/nephew, fucked and Jon's kids could have been his cousins if she had gotten pregnant

Her parents and grandparents were both siblings were they not? The only way she could have gotten more inbred was if she was a daughter of twins lol

"For House Targaryen, the ideal marriage was brother-to-sister, or failing that, marrying close kin such as cousins, uncles, or nieces. This practice preserved the "blood of the dragon," "

Imma say this meme hits the nail on the head there

Everyone has different purposes. Some are dabbing away urine, some are drying their selves after using a bidet, some are cleaning the walls after MAHA "fixed" our lettuce situation.

Doesn't matter so long as Altman just got geographic time stamps of where you your spouse your children and what activities they like to participate in at all times.

Here I thought it all was. I didn't have kids so I didn't ever have a reason to look into them. But don't like all baby foods go through a food processor so the baby's can eat them without teeth? So you already hit processed food status right there...

So then you try to mix processed foods from different plants and something to make them shelf stable and it's gotta be hard pressed to not be called ultra processed.

I'm not an expert but like if someone took canned tuna and mixed it with processed sweet potatoes, broccoli, liver, and feeds it to someone, at what level does it become ultra processed as opposed to combinations of processed foods?

It's a quick one for them honestly. "We didn't have so many trans people till these fuckers starting eating avocado toast." The fact that they are mostly grown in California and the bias people have against San Fran, and much of the U.S. lack of knowing where cities are in other states. I've already said to much. Avacados made trans people is basically already fact for MAGA now

I mean the CEO of Ford said it was humbling when he traveled to China to see what they were doing. Then he imported a Xiaomi SU7 to Michigan apparently so they could "study" it. The U.S. called that reverse engineering anytime China did such when I was growing up.

Mostly the title describes it. I'm curious after seeing a pokemon Minecraft server in a passover YouTube video my spouse was going between. Basically I am wondering if I can create a host on Mint somehow to host with the mods, put a split console join, and then allow us to join from Xbox or such hosted off our server.

Commercials for bear, sherman williams, etc show up around and everyone sees them eventually. Has anyone actually found a cheap paint that covers well and looks nice (water based for indoor) that is cheap and worth the idea of experimenting or doing a room that you know you will have to repaint white later before you move out. Been here 4 years, no real plans of leaving, fuck I put a chicken coop out back a near 2 years ago.. but I know a day will come when they say "hey your rent is going up drastically or you can't have pets or something"

Sadly they switched from year leases to month to month 3 years ago (after the first year) but I figure at some point maybe it is worth just painting something to make it more homeish than damnit I'm still here

What are your favorite type of lentils, what do you use them in, why are they preferred for that dish than others?

I recently realized I have only had maybe 1 or two types, and upon searching them found they all supposedly taste different and have different textures.

Wherher it is for cheap decent soup or an old family recipe; slap me with some information

Hot Water Shutoff (thelemmy.club)

So this place was made into a duplex and they forced a hot water heater into a small closet. Maybe I'm not understanding properly but why is there not a hot water Shutoff valve there? The hot water wasn't shutting fully off on the tub, so the valve stem likely just needs to be replaced, not hard.. quick cheap replacement usually... But when I went to shut off the hot water I found this.

Side note, I also found their was no exhaust vent for the dryer a couple years ago, we had to have someone cut a whole where the exhaust was ran, but just sat up against the exterior wall with no outlet. (Obviously a fire hazard). Shit happens, but am I wrong that a shut off valve should be there?

Church Called (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

So the head of a church (priest/preacher/pastor, whomever calls them self father) calls in asking why he's getting charged taxes on apps in his app store. Says he bought two new iPhone 17 pro max's tax free (one for his wife one for him) and his computers should be tax free because "they are for the church". Your apps aren't for the church. Your phone is not for the church, God didn't demand you answer a phone or download an app.. get back to your damn church and pay your sales taxes person who points his phone at a Donald Trump tie and thinks you are the person who isn't the mooch
