Yann is the annoying nerd that tells you the truth. Alex is the cool kid that tells you what you want to hear.

Hey there.

If you loved olive 0.1, it's back. With (a lot) of help from claude, i revived this 7 years old amazing program and brought it back.

Yes oak exists and olive 0.2 is more advanced, but 0.1 workflow was so natural to me i never was able to use anything else. And its back. and the .deb build is 1.3MB. For a full fledged NL video editor.

Have a great day

I mean, it's yaml manipulation. It was either python or perl, but i wasn't fucking with perl, i'm insane not mad (or the other way around)

The real question is "why would anyone want to use this". The answer "People are lazy and prefer using docker compose over k3s".

I maintain several helmfiles repo, and people asked me "but where docker compose" . So there is your docker compose https://github.com/baptisterajaut/stoatchat-platform/blob/main/docs/compose-deployment.md

But yeah, all of this shouldn't exist. Go read the about page in the docs if you're brave (or bored) enough

Hey there, it's me again with my cursed project. Last time is said "i basically reinvented Kubernetes". But the voices won and I legit did.

Last time it was a cursed novelty. A random script made by some autistic dude with too much time on its hand.

Now it's become its own project, with ecosystem and overpriced .io domain. For no reason other than : It's cursed, but it works beautifully.

Every Kind is handled by its distinct code. Everything is pluggable, nothing is hardcoded. The next layer of hell is for someone else to write Docker Swarm extensions. Won't be me.

I am, again, very sorry. Sorry for releasing this thing into the world as a complete, working, product.

And sorry for keeping spamming it. I will stop, i promises (the voices will never)

I am sorry for making this. I didnt want to make this. I made helmfile. It worked. People demanded docker compose. I hate docker compose. So I prefered building this than maintain a docker compose.

It works. It shouldn't. It's an abomination. It works.

Some days ago I shared a script that would transform basic kubernetes manifests into docker compose and caddyfile. It was heresy, but controlled heresy.

The voice never stopped. Now it's an ecosystem with its own package manager, and it does CRDs with custom operators. It's extendable. It's documented. It's an insult to kubernetes.

Now you too have to live knowing this exist. And i'm sorry

Update : and then it got worse https://dekube.io/

Hey there it's me again.
I made another helmfile for stoatchat, and yesterday enablex experimental video support (webcam/screen sharing), enjoy.
Docker-compose is also supported (via an unholy custom-made kubernetes devolver).

Many thanks to the stoat community, this one is a collective effort (using a currently non-mainline patch for video support)

Edit : now supports https://dekube.io/ to deploy with docker compose ( https://github.com/baptisterajaut/stoatchat-platform/blob/main/docs/compose-deployment.md )

I'm this close to dropping everything and becoming an ermit living at the top of a mountain.

Hi

Disclaimer/TW : Vibe-coded project. You can hate me and insult me over that and i will understand it. But please bear with me for a minute

I wanted to share this abomination.

Basically i have been making helmfiles to deploy stoatchat and lasuitenumérique (which i previously shared : https://jlai.lu/post/32413174 )

But people kept asking me "but where docker-compose, k8s too complicated".
Instead of being the bigger person and maintain manually a separate compose.yml , i decided to overdo it myself and make an absolute ICBM of a script to kill a fly.

I checked, no one was stupid enough to go that far with such a project. Maybe it could ACTUALLY be useful for someone. So have fun with it.

Update : now called https://dekube.io/ . Take kubernetes stacks, make compose. Hell.

La Suite numérique is a open source WIP office suite developped by french and german governments to replace proprietary office suite. Theyre self-hosteable but i found the official install instructions unclear to follow, and they have only instructions to install one app at a time. So i've used helmfile and did a one-command install myself.

Have fun

Update : now supports https://dekube.io/ to deploy with docker compose ( https://github.com/baptisterajaut/lasuite-platform/blob/main/docs/compose-deployment.md )

It's as piracy as using windows without a key. Thats against TOS. Which is not important if you are not a company that can be sued.

Also it's the first free hit at the dealer. They hope you come back and pay

[-] pokexpert30@jlai.lu 18 points 3 months ago

I don't mind DE to have a windows-mimicking workflow (cinnamon, KDE kinda) but modding Gnome to mimick windows is not great because it causes weird bug and maintenance issues. Aka it breaks easily and gives bad impressions to the user

as much as I hate elon, grok, and tesla, this makes rather little sense. Even with full on hallicinations, this sounds chaotic.

Longhorn is goated to manage volume availability across geographically distant nodes.

If you're running a one-node show, hostpath will do fine (or just dont kubernetes at all, tbh)

Greetings. I'm not sure if should ask this here or on a MacOS specific community, mods feel free to remove this post if necessary.

Basically I'm getting a new SRE job. At my current (future ex) SRE job, i had all the freedom to have a Archlinux KDE workstation, that is incredibly comfortable to use as i'm also dailying it on my personal workstation.

However this new company gave me the workstation choice between either a Windows machine without WSL (yes i know), either a Macbook m4. (Edit for clarity : i cannot change the OS because of central management software)

I chose the macbook for the battery life and being able to keep it at least Unix (with zsh always on hand), but i have no prior experience on using mac os.

What are the various software that you would recommend to a KDE user to have on its mac ? I know only about brew.sh the new apple container thingy, and some various fan control app. Is there a way to have Dophin as file manager, or something similar ? (IE a file manager with an integrated folder-following terminal ? General tips and tricks you may want to share?

Thank you for your attention and have a great day

For référence, there is an ancient in my village of 300 inhabitants that isbsaying that in the 60's, there were SIX bars in the village. For 300 inhabitants.

So I guess so.

Also for reference we only have a bread machine now, no shops of any kind.

Just one more layer bro, just one more automated planning system bro and this time it will be entirely faultless please bro one more layer

[-] pokexpert30@jlai.lu 33 points 6 months ago

And this is what happens when a middle manager answer "It won't" when you ask "what if the service goes down?"
